So the main thing I wanted to ask was about the "Free Cam" mode. I see people in the LCS use free cam, but they don't drag their mouse all the way to the edge of the screen to move the camera like I have to.
Is there a certain button I need to press??
Any other general tips I may not know about would be extremely helpful too.
Mundo1 votesYou can assign a button I believe its spacebar by default. You press it and it auto locks to your champion until you release the button.
You can also slide your mouse off screen to move camera in that direction.
If you hover mouse above the map and highlight the buttons.. one of them should say something about camera lock and unlock [I believe the farthest to the right] and what button you have assigned for it to unlock camera for free cam mode.
Remember if you go into a custom game you can experiment with all the button keys under options when you press escape.
vortical421 votesIt is a matter of personal preference, but I wouldn't recommend using spacebar for something like that. Spacebar is one of the few keys you can comfortably hit without taking your fingers off the skill hotkeys. If you are going to use a key to toggle 'screen lock' on and off, remap it to something else and keep spacebar free for in-combat commands like attack-move or champion-only targeting.

But a quick tip is not to rush to Lv.30 you wont be ready for ranked play.

Locked camera key default is Y. Space bar recenters camera on your champ.
Honestly. unlocked IS needed. How else are you supposed to be a team player and watching the other lanes if you're unable to move the camera around. Minimap can be helpful for that. But long ranged mages like Xerath's or Lux's ult... you're not going to hit those with a locked camera at max range.
Even Caitlyn ults pan off screen. I would say get used to unlocked. It's better later on, once teamwork becomes more critical. If you need help getting used to moving the camera around, maybe play some Starcraft/Warcraft (not WOW, Warcraft) to get used to having to build it into your thought process.

Do you mean you're watching the LCS games that were streamed and being commentated? Those matches are being viewed through a spectator mode; the real in-game camera doesn't work that way. The spectator camera automatically tries to center itself around the action.
As a player, you have to move your mouse to the edge of the screen to move it, as you said. Or click on the mini-map.
