Bad teams?

I'll start off by saying I know I am not the best League player, I always improve what I couldn't do in previous matches, and work as a team player. Lately I have been having seemingly awful matches and long losing streaks and I can't quite put my finger on the exact reason why. Normally other players want to jump on the band wagon and blame other players for lack of (insert anything skill related) but I want to try and avoid that as best as I can. I will say that it does feel that some players I am getting on my teams don't seem to be playing objectives, team fighting, or using common sense and generally like to argue when you say anything. Now obviously there are going to be bad apples out there that will bring us all down, I mute them immediately, but is there anything I can do as a player no matter what role i'm playing to improve the overall team play outcome even when 1-2 players on the team refuse to communicate? It has become a recurring theme in nearly every match I've played lately, even the Victories and it's starting to wear me down. :(

tl;dr

Other players are lacking skill, like to argue, and usually are the reason for a Defeat. What can I do to improve and prevent this as a player?

Do good and pick roles where you can help your team like mid or jungle and do better than everyone else so that if you claim to be better you will win games.

This...is a great question that I think is pertinent to everyone that plays league. It seems you're trying the right things so far in

a) Muting the worst people

b) Trying to direct people to work cohesively

c) Working on being the best personally

Some other things worth trying are:

a) Shotcalling is something that can help a team a whole lot. I'd say this depends on how confident you feel in your game sense (watching pros can help this, and just trying it you should improve) but by giving your team a focus less people are going to be running off doing their own thing. Sometimes though, you just have to try and rally people around one really vocal or hard to deal with person who's just doing their own thing. Then at least the team is cohesive.

b) Being as positive and friendly as you can without sounding really forced. If your teammates have a good impression of you they're more likely to listen to you when you try to shotcall or give advice. This also helps people feel more relaxed and play better. I remember there was this one game I was on a 3 game losing streak and was feeling tense and nervous with out realizing it. I was rushing everything and failing really hard. Then the sona on our team who had been nice just said "calm down Ahri, it's ok" and all of sudden I realized I was freaking out and took a moment to calm down. After that I started landing my skillshots and getting kills. Positive people change games.

c) Getting people to communicate during champ select (especially in ranked) will often help set the pace for the rest of the game

That's all I can think of for now. I don't guarantee these will work all the time but I've seen some success playing with these in mind. In the end though this isn't a substitute for getting better at the game so keep working on that. I find people are nicer and more communicative when they're winning :P. Don't get too down and keep trying!

Tip of the day: When carrying the most important thing is to not die rather than get kills. Since you're strong that means your team is pretty weak and any time you spend dead means time the enemy team can abuse yours. (You also don't give away your spree gold, but that's another matter)

It doesnt help because people dont listen dude. You just have to play well and hope you catch them off guard. I had a game with an aatrox that would not listen and he thought he was better than everyone else. When he ganked top he managed to get teemo killed more than anything and ended up sitting in top feeding vlad more and more. While the other lanes were also getting butt devastated because we were spending more time trying to get aatrox out of top. Then when other people floated up there to help them he would run in a 3v1/4v1 situation and kept getting us killed. He called us kids and told us to shut up blah blah all that when we were trying to teach him how to play. How to people make it 30 and are still this bad? And why do we always get matched with them? You just do and you have to learn how to play with them.

If they start to get extremely negative make sure to remind them that they can get a 4x or even 9x report , it always works for me. if you are concerned about their poor skills and you think your skill level doesn't match theirs you can report them for not skilled players in the end screen.
