Hey everyone, now this might sound dumb but recently i started playing top lane. I have really only ever played support and adc because top lane for me is one of the most annoying/boring lanes to deal with.

However i decided to give it a go, mainly with riven seeing i want to improve my mechanical plays in league at the moment. Now every single game i either vs a Garen or Darius and im just having a tough time dealing with them, like they beat me in lane, and out carry me late game.

Does anyone have any tips that they could give me ??

well usually it depends on your play style. Your used to bot lane which is basically ranged champions. stick with what you are used to and use champions with range what darius or garen cant touch. examples( Teemo Anivia Annie Vayne

Try playing their counters. championselect.net helps greatly.

You can pick Vayne into both of them but only if know how to orbwalk/kite/attackmove and that you're experienced with playing Vayne in other roles like ADC. Until those two are met, don't expect to hardcounter them straight up.

Well if you are trying to improve mechanically try someone other than riven. Someone who is punished harder so you learn to not make mistakes as much, at least with me, the harder i get punished for making a mistake on a champ the less i make that mistake, Riven has too much of a safety net for me. Plus Garen and Darius counter riven and are very popular right now, it's kind of a bad time to try and pick her up.

Plus at least with someone like Malphite and Sion who i play top when i go top, they bring disruption and are a meat shield at least if they are behind unlike riven who gets melted and dies.

kite them...slow if you can keep it at range and punish them if they come in to cs this way you can make them stay near their turret and and lose the lane advantage early. an assist from your jg can help if you can stun darius long enough to null his heal,garen"s early game is meh until he gets his ult then be cautious harass him when you can but again keep him back at his turret make him play your game not his..if you play his game you will most likely lose.so ranged and steady harass and be aware of where your safe boundries are.....hope i got it right but thats my opinion on it
