Advice on Getting out of bronze.

I was ranked in bronze one last season with promos and then with a few matches. I was able to get out to silver 5. But then I created this account. And I got bronze 5. Can anyone tell me about how many matches it would take to get out of bronze. Or someone give me some insight on the ranking system. I know I still have tons to learn. But every ranked match I play I always get someone who puts everyone down and ends up afking. Its always partially my fault. But I would just like to have a better understanding you know? Any and all comments are appreciated. :) Does duo que help? How much lp do you get per match?

Your team mates being toxic/afking is out of your control, mute chat if you have too. To climb you need to improve. That's it. Whether it is game knowledge, mechanics or decision making ignore winning and losing; play to learn. I wouldn't recommend duo queuing at least until you are more experienced unless you duo is obviously way better than you, but then you are just getting carried and not learning as much. LP depends on your MMR.

Win many more games than you lose to climb.

Generic tips for getting out of bronze:

  1. Farm better. Last hit creeps for extra gold. No one in bronze knows how to do this well.
  2. Don't die so much. Every time you die you give the enemy team gold. Don't give the enemy team gold, and make them outplay you.
  3. Towers > Kills. You win the game by taking the nexus. You need to take at least 5 towers to do this.

TIBBERS GUIDE OUT OF BRONZE

IF I CAN DO IT YOU CAN TOO!

Step 1. Pick a Champion you like don't matter what champ it is. Step 2. Played the Champ every game until you feel like the champion is a part of you. Step 3. Once you are comfortable with the Champion, learn the best combo for it to secure kills or assists Step 4. Reduce Death rates, do not be greedy not worth to trade 1 kill for 1 death. Step 5. Learn positioning, which position is best suited for you in team fight where you can do most damage before dying. Step 6. Congratulations you ride that 1 champ to death and now you're gold.

You should focus mainly on yourself and your skill. I recommend picking a lane to main and at most three champs that you enjoy and work on them. Spam those champions and improve your individual skill. You could also improve by watching guide videos and highlights as you can break down their mechanics. It also helps that you are passionate with the champion! It will help you win a lot more games even if you have trolls or afks (keep in mind the other team could be going through the same thing with toxics/feeders/afks/trolls/etc.) Sometimes I find muting people help when they are a huge distraction. Keeping a positive mentality throughout the whole game is important as well, and remember to not surrender too early as it eliminates your chance of a comeback. I think you already got some good advice. If I can add some general advice:

-Learn to be patient and even tempered. When laning, just focus on farming, don't push so hard. Let your opponent make mistakes that you can take advantage of instead of giving them the chance to jump on you, or giving the jungler the opportunity to gank you. -Don't go chasing after kills. If you didn't kill your opponent in whatever fight you were in and he's running into his jungle, it's not worth chasing after him. You MIGHT get the kill, or you might walk into a trap. Either way, that's time you could have spent taking an objective (tower, buff, dragon, etc.), or if it's still early laning, that's time you could've kept farming and leveling (those early levels count for a LOT). -Ward. A lot. Vision is king. Buy the vision trinket upgrade (SOOOO worth the 250 gold) and ward the hell out of the map (unless you're the support, or a jungler that can use sight-stone, then upgrade the red trinket and kill all the enemy wards).

Good luck.

Well to answer your question as to how many matches to get to silver.

It depends on how much LP you get per win... assuming you get average of 20 each...

You would have to win 5 times per division (25 matches) and 2 promo matches for 2-4 (so 10 more matches) and 3 to get into silver. So the soonest a 0LP B5 could get into silver would be after 38 straight wins.

Be advised if you ever go on massive win streaks you will get more LP per win (30+) however the promo matches will remain the same.

Of course... if you LOSE any matches you are adding up even more games. Assume you have 50% win rate and the net+- for win/loss is 10.

You would need to play 20 matches per division instead of 5. Therefore to get into Silver you (realistically) need to play at least 113.

There... some complicated math for you Indeed...
