These are some general tips, they won't apply in special circumstances but will apply for the most part.

-Stay within range of your peel/heal/shield machine in fights. This is usually your support, but it could be a top laner, jungler or mid. We can't help you if you run away from us.

-Don't put yourself into harm's way to attack someone, just hit whoever is closest. Let your divers or long range guys deal with their back line, you deal with their front line (or divers).

-Always have someone with you and have them walk in front or right next to you. If someone is going to face check a bush or walk around a corner it should be someone that isn't you, you have a decent chance of being the most valuable member of the team so it is better if they are the one that dies.

-If there is no vision somewhere, YOU DON'T GO NEAR IT. Unless you can see all of the enemies on your mini-map and they are not near there you should assume that all enemies you can't see are waiting in that little spot of darkness, waiting to ambush you around every corner. This is why a lot of ADCs take a blue trinket later in the game.

-Play some support. This is a great way to see how to make the support's job, making the ADC's job easy, easier for your future supports. If you make their job easier then your job is easier.

I hope these help, I might come back if I think of more.

I noticed the #1 problem of ADCs is running away from their supports. By supports I don't just mean your bot lane supports but your top, mid and jungler. We cannot peel for you if you flash over the wall into a waiting assassin while we're all right there.

The most valuable aspects of ADC:

  1. Positioning (because you're squishy, you also need to know and learn when to take risks, those times were you need to go in even if you're getting hit etc. don't play cowardly).
  2. Orb-walking (a.k.a kiting or basic attack animation cancelling).
  3. Last hitting (really need items).

You can find numerous detailed videos about these three. People make them all the time on Youtube.
