Renekton Vs Shyvana ?

How do you win lane against Shyvana as Renekton?

This has already happened to me twice, and while i didnt necessarily "lose" the lane, but I was always forced to play it defensively. She always kills a camp and teleports to lane with a ton of pots and level two, so im already slightly behind in levels. She does AOE magic damage and AD AA damage so i can't itemize effectively against her which makes me lose extended trades with her. That way im forced to EQWE trade with her and just play defensively while she pushes the lane, force me to farm under tower and miss CS, and lose my early strength and pressure as Renekton. In the two games that this happened, my jungler never ganked her, even though she was pushing all the time ... so what are my options here?

Although I play Shyvana, I've never played that matchup (on either side), but I would think that bullying her at level 2 would be effective. She doesn't have all her abilities yet, and a strong all-in early can hurt, especially if she can't Challenging Smite you yet. Also, yeah, itemizing against her is hard with AD, magic damage, and a percent HP shred. I think a Specter's Cowl and/or Merc Treads might help out, since the shred is magic damage.

Abuse all your power prior 3 or 4, level 1 and 2 you should have the upper hand. Go for small trades instead of extended ones, early game all her sustain comes from consumables while you have your build in sustain, you gotta abuse it.

its a very complicated matchup that is vastly different every time depending on each champions runes, masteries and item setup.

shyvanas setup aside, renekton can ONLY win this matchup if he builds basically full offensie bruiser with hydra, BT and LW. ´ once tiamat is complete, you are able to outpush her if she comes to trade with you in a minion wave due to your healing from empowered Q and tiamats splash. tho you can probably never kill her when she goes defense, except if she really tries hard to trade, you CAN duel her for the most part of the game and control her laning, jungling and roaming while denying her some CS.

if shyvana builds damage and goes with the smite but not for cinderhulk but for warriors or even plays without smite entirely, its a matchup where one will kill the other and snowball the lane, but renekton with damage has the upper hand due to him having a stun, which allows him to do quick trades without much counteraggression from shyvana.

tho if you trade with her when she builds damage, you can NEVER engage with E, do your combo and disengage, as she will R after you and kill you in 2 seconds because both of you built damage. you can only walk up to her, combo her (dont forget auto attacks during your combo) and then double E away through a minion wave to wait for your cooldowns.

basically, if played correctly, renekton WILL win this lane if he builds damage, which is at the same time the superior mid-lategame build, so you are sure to have more impact on the game than her.

if shyvana runs smite, its your job to follow her during jungle attemps and prevent her from stealing your junglers camps and buffs. if she has no smite, just beat her in lane and do some good groups with your team. it is recommended to run ignite on renekton.

If you suspect Shyvana is going to do a camp to get 2 before lane, then freeze the lane and have it push towards your turret, that way you can farm close and under your turret, but she has to physically dive you to get CS effectively, while it wont really help the experience lead she will have you can neuter her CS and even it out a fair deal.

Former Cancer Croc main (I've played him here and there recently). I'll be honest with you, unless she screws up or you mange to outplay her, you're not going to win lane without jungler help. Prep your meat shield build because farm lanes are how you "beat" Renekton. No hard win lane? No mid game dominance. That said, here's a few QOL tips:

Take teleport. Ignite's not going to be much use to you here since you won't often find yourself in a position to kill her if she knows what she's doing. The idea here is to force her out of lane, even if it forces you out of lane too. Except her teleport is down from the camp and you can immediately get back to lane to make up the exp difference and get on even grounds so you can fight her. Alternatively, if she stays in lane low and you recall/TP back early, you now have the HP and pots to start zoning and bullying her from farm. Congrats, you can actually win lane now. Depending on how early you do this, you'll have it back up around the time you hit 6-7 and can make plays elsewhere. Useful Renekton is useful.
Don't trade with her while her W is up. Her Q hurts yeah, but her W is what screws you over, as you've noticed. AOE magic damage that 1) lasts longer when she autos, and 2) now procs bonus damage when she attacks while it's up (the flashy lights), a recent buff that makes it hard to trade with her. If you started cloth 5, trading with her while this is down is favorable to you. Try to shoot for right after it finishes if you can bait it out.
Don't be afraid to play the short trade game. This is where you shine. W-AA-Q-EE (away), E-W-AA-Q-E(away) works too. If she chases you with her W, good she's pushing the minion wave back. Alternatively, you can save your Q for when she chases so you don't shove the wave as well, but popping it in her+wave to get hp back is ideal and how you out-sustain her. Don't ever sit in her W or go for extended trades though. No CDs? No trading.
Try and get the jungler to gank for you between 3-5. Level 6 she has an escape. Level 2 you don't have your power spike. A good gank post 3- pre 6 can turn the lane around for you making your life a lot easier, and freeing you up to shove lane, deny her farm/exp and roam mid or look to get bot/drag soon.
