Zac vs. Rek'Sai jungle

I am approaching 6300 ip and was comparing rek'sai and zac as junglers. rek'sai seems to get lots of praise and her global roar is intimidating but i really like zac's passive it kind of makes him un-killable. which is the better buy in your opinion?

Well, it is league of tanks currently, but reksai is far more offencive than zac the nearly pure tank. Still, Zac played right can do better than amumu ( he's a lot like amumu). his gap closer is very large and its knock up is just as good as a stun. All his damage is aoe and is up front burst ERWQ. His R deals a good amount of knock back which displaces the enemy team's positioning. Just don't expect to duel with him.

I have them both and I love them both. It really depends on whether you like to play more bruisers or tanks in the jungle. I think Rek'Sai's engage is much easier to land (Zac's E takes a little time to get used to.) Then again, Zac really is nearly impossible to kill if you play him right. Rek'Sai deals more damage but Zac had more CC and zoning ability.

You can't go wrong with either pick, its more about what style you like to play.

However, Pool Party Zac is on sale right now and its an awesome skin so I'd recommend picking up Zac and grabbing pool party while you're at it.

Rek'Sai has a better early game but Zac scales better. They are both great junglers, pick the one you enjoy playing more.

They both provide good mobility, damage, CC, and durability. I'd honestly recommend getting both at some point, but if you have to choose between them...

  • Rek'sai provides better mobility throughout the game using her tunnel network and ultimate. Her Q is great for applying Black Cleaver's armor reduction, she has good true damage, and she is an excellent counter-jungler (due to her Tremor Sense, mobility, and clear speed). She tends to fall off a bit later in teamfights lategame, but she still provides good damage, knockups, and global pressure.

  • Zac has better durability, innate damage without items, tower-diving potential, and disruption in teamfights. His passive provides a lot of sustain in teamfights and make him very difficult to finish off when combined with his passive.

Both are very good at ganking from unexpected directions and over walls, CCing targets, and providing a quick burst of damage in ganks. They both have good jungle sustain and clear speed. Neither of them are particularly dependent on damage items (I typically just take Cinderhulk and Black Cleaver on Rek'sai).

Basically, pick whichever one you think you'll prefer. Then get the other.

Zac is great fun. So is Rek'Sai too. But Zac is more interesting for longer. Rek'Sai starts to get boring.

Rek'Sai is very popular and strong currently. Fairly fast and sustainable clear. Optimal runes are more mainstream (attack damage/attackspeed). Potent ganks. Pretty straightforward mechanically. On the radar for some minor nerf

Zac jungle clear efficiency is highly impacted by runes in my opinion. I am running attack speed marks, armor quints, scaling hp seals, and some flat cooldown reduction glyphs. This grants you more armor early, the attack speed needed which helps you kill the big mob at each camp, and some hp to scale up with cinderhulk. The cooldown reduction glyphs are important in my opinion as Zac drops blobs with abilities; when he picks up a blob the cooldown of his W drops, so he sort of gets extra effectiveness with cooldown reduction. More abilities, more blobs, more reductions. But when you are playing Zac correctly his clear speed is very good the entire game, and he remains very healthy after the first clear. And his ganks are amazingly fun as you rank up his slingshot.
