I NEED HELP IN PVP!!! xD

WillingSoul·1/22/2015, 8:51:03 PM·2 votes·1,387 views

I just started playing LOL about a week ago and i have gotten pretty good at the bot games and i have even played some PVP games which you can probably guess from the title have ended badly. I think part of it is because i don't really know how to play agiainst other players and i don't really have anyone to play with. None of my friends play and no one i know does. So if someone would like to friend me so we can play and you could really mentor me in the ways of PVP i would love you forever! of course its completely up to you but i would just really like it if someone could play with me and teach me. If you would like to help me just reply to this and i will be the happiest person in the world! Thank you so much to anyone who would like to help me. Thanks! advice and tips are always welcome too if you dont have time to play

Check out my lesser known tips and tricks thread on this board. Also if you're new it's okay to be bad. Knowing how to play against enemy champions is half the battle. You can play your champion as good as challengers but if you've never seen a particular champion vs you in your lane you're going to lose. Play a variety of champions to familiarize yourself and take note of what the enemy champs do when they kill you. Most champions have hard counters and hard counter a different champion. For example Katarina is a noob stomper that snowballs with ease, but she's counter by certain champions like Malzahar that aren't usually very threatening. Know when to play passive and aggressive. If you've got the short end of the stick in champion matchup, wait for a gank and focus on farm.

There are some older players that offer mentoring and coaching. your post here might attract one. I'd also watch the "team recruitment" page. Most of that is people looking for ranked teams, but I found a mentor via that page and a group to play with which does help quite a bit.

I can make a few suggestions.

First, choose a couple champions to put more effort in. Try to play 70-85% of your games on those champions. You'll pick up skills faster that way. I was personally against this, but the more I play one champ, the faster I'm picking up little things.
Second, don't be afraid to have a bad game and do try out the free champs each week. You might find one you like, you'll also learn the weaknesses of each champ. It makes a different knowing that "X" has a great charge and burst attack, but if they miss they will likely be in perfect position for me to use my ult and they won't be able to retreat quickly.

You can add me in game, but I haven't been playing much longer than you so I can't really mentor anyone right now. I do hope you have fun.

Practice.

After you play for a while you get used to playing against champions, like you know if your low and riven has her r up shes going to chuck it at you.
once you get used to it counter play becomes available... best part of the game right there.

Playing more also gets you used to the damages everyone does, you know wether or not you can fight, ect.

just quit AI... they do the same thing every time and if you want to get good at pvp, thats not going to help you play against the ever changing playstyles that we humans come up with.

One thing we can all agree that will be to your benefit to learn early is to have a good creep score and to ward.

Seriously, warding wins games. It is very important to know where your enemies are and what they are doing. "Creep Scoring" is essentially being able to deal the finishing blow on minions to get gold from them. The more minions you kill the more gold you have and the more gold you have the better your equipment will be.

I am far from a good player, but you can feel free to add me in game if you want. I'm not the most knowledgeable Summoner, but I might be able to answer any questions you might have or help you out in understanding the the basic aspects of the game.

You can add me if you want. We can jump in a custom game and I'll show you how to fix your setup to get yout a head start and then we can play whenever. Skype would be a plus.

I have been playing Since November and am still pretty bad, but I have improved. I am better than some, and worse than others and especially bad against really good players. That said I do understand conceptually how to play and here is what I have learned. I tied to put them in the order you should learn first to last.

  1. Try to last hit for gold
  2. If you are being outpoked then don't force last hit (but still try), but instead level up in lane by playing conservative and hugging a tower. Ask for help from team.
  3. Check the mini map and get an idea of what is going on (global awareness) this is an RTS skill and a skill that playing against bots do not teach.
  4. Ward so you can have global awareness (This is a skill playing against bots don't teach)
  5. Press O and get an idea of how your team and the enemy team is doing especially their jungler. Once a jungler hits 6 especially a warric they will be looking to gank. If you are perceived as a bad player then they will pick on you.
  6. Don't force a dragon kill if it will mean the death of your team
  7. Sometimes it is OK to die later in the game if it will mean you can get a strong push on an objective, but don't force it either. I am very objective focused and will push my luck WAY too often trying to get towers down and it usually turns out bad for me. DON't Tower dive, DOn't stick around too long in enemy territory alone.
  8. Be very careful as you press pass the middle of the field into enemy territory you need global awareness so you don't get ganked. (I struggle here because I get too focused on towers)
  9. In team fights don't lose yourself and color blind mode can help
  10. When you kill the enemy push an objective as a team.
  11. Learn to click ping so you can communicate with your team what you are thinking (I don't aways remember because Im stressed out in team fights and it is not natural for me yet)
  12. Get your team to concentrate on a single person like their ADC first.
  13. Learn other champ skills and abilities. Learn the shop and what to buy based on what the other team is buying.
  14. Do the little things that save time like pressing P after you press B so as soon as you port back you can immediately buy and get back in the fight.

Well, I have been playing for quite a long time, maybe a year or two. I could give you tips, but it seems people already have said them, heh. But basically practice, learning, trial and error is all you need to get good. If you wish, you can add me (Salnalus) as I always have time to play matches, and would love to teach.

Feel Free to add me as well. I enjoy playing with non toxic players who want to have fun and are like me and just looking to improve.
