How to deal with getting matched against players much more skilled than me?

I'm currently unranked (level 24), so all I have are normals. However, seems like most games lately either by myself or with my friend, I/we are matched against at least a couple silver+. I usually lose the lane pretty hard, but we've managed some wins through late game teamfights. I am doing my best to watch carefully what they do and learn, but most times they straight up out-damage me due to my lack of a full runepage or masteries, on top of the large skill gap. I'm trying to balance using my IP for runes and expanding my champion pool.

Any tips on how I can deal with these unequal matches? I'm currently learning ADC, so this is almost always in bot lane. Is there anything I can do besides grind it out to ranked and hope the ranking system makes the games a little more even?

Thanks for the help!

You dont "deal" with them. You learn from them. Since u obviously accept that there are more skilled players, you will soon become better player and improve. Only players that blame team, jungler, riot,op champions, lag, smurfs,scripters,polish... Those people will never improve.

Play like a bitch. Farm farm and farm. Try poking them once, why not? If you notice they can outpoke you easily then continue to play like a bitch. Ask for a gank. Later in teamfights, like you said, you should have a better chance.

silver is average to below average in skill. It is not something to be afraid of. roughly 45% of the player base (that plays ranked) is at the silver level.

You are entering into (what was for me) the roughest period of leveling up. I noticed this same trend develop for me around that level. As someone else mentioned, take this time to learn. This is a great time to play to learn, not to win. Save that for ranked play. Experiment with your playstyle too. I realized around that level that my main (renekton at the time) was actually a lane bully and I had been playing him very passively.

I would also recommend that you do not fall into the habit of playing too passively. It's better to go ham and learn your boundaries then play safe and never push them.

Also, my experience was the the first games of ranked were WAY easier than normals. Keep learning and don't get discouraged :)

grind it out

the game won't do you any favors by coddling you, you'll get better over time with experience
