I agree with the others not to waste money, but if you know 100% you want to play assassins, I dont see any harm in buying say, Zed and Ahri and having fun while you level. But if you aren't 100% sure thats what you want to do, then I would play free champs and hope some assassins end up on free week while you level.

I dont see a problem with buying a champ if you are planning on playing them. But, it does suck when you waste RP on someone you dont even play or enjoy playing. I typically only buy champs when they are on sale. The last champ I paid full price for, was Draven, and I dont even play him. He's not as fun as I thought he would be.

In addition to playing the free to play to find one i like i also go over to friends houses and they let me try a few bot games with the champs they have. I know that isnt always an option for people but i thought i would throw it out there haha. Also keep in mind you can return your champs 3 times. If you totally hate your champ and dont want to invest time into learning them, return it in the LoL store!
