5.17 for noobs?

Sup guys, I haven't been able to play very much recently because of the new semester, and my job before that. I haven't been able to keep up with the meta and lately I've just been getting sh!@ stomped every game. Will someone, PLEASE, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, explain the current meta to me. Like what Items do I need to keep my eye on, what champs are getting popular because of these items. I haven't been playing much since the super tank meta in early summer. I just want to enjoy playing my favorite game again. Thanks for any help! And please don't send me to 5.17 tldr. I've seen it.

Garen Fiora Mordekaiser Skarner Darius got reworked and are OP.

Lux Anivia Annie Malzahar Chogath AOE CC mages to deal with them are doing well.

XinZhao Diana MasterYi Rengar Warwick Nocturne Evelynn Other than Shyvana , Assassin-y junglers are back.

ADCs are weak, Tanks (the high cc low damage kind) aren't doing too well either.

Pretty much to sum it all up is the tanks got hit a little. 5.16 the Juggernauts patch happened and all of them are a force you dont want to go against. Right now is more of a fighter/bruiser meta. The pure tank items got nerfed a little but MR items buffed a small ammount. With this being said the AD assassins and bruisers got an indirect buff on top of the buffs they may have gotten. Zed and Talon are really tough to face right now becuase with the new bruiser type items they can be sort of beefy with having the same assassination capabilities as before. The adcs are also stronger becuase of the armor nerfs, and last but not least you still have all your favorite devourer junglers. This is more of an AD meta and bruiser/ad assassins. All this being said though all though the adcs do more damage in theory they are easily killed and caught with the champs in meta right now. Adcing requires much more kiting skill than before.

5.17 is the exact same as 5.16 except you now no longer have bans in draft pick because they're reserved for Darius Garen Mordekaiser .

Wow thank you guys so much! this is all great to keep in mind. Now i'm just mad that my irelia and riven aren't working anymore. I'll blame it on the ping difference :). Again thank you for the advice!
