Need Help at Finding a New Hard Carry at Mid

Hey guys, I am starting to get into the mid role- it's pretty fun, but my main unfortunately is Ezreal- and that is an incredibly situational pick and probably not consistently the best one (depending on what the other team picks). I was looking into Ahri, Syndra, and Cassiopeia (level of investment in that order) although I have some qualms because I want to spend my IP wisely.

Ahri is banned all the time for some reason in low ELO so I feel like I would just never be able to play as her. Syndra seems to have a large learning curve and Cassiopeia seems like she can be put into dangerous situations by her kit (she seems very stationary with no great getaway options).

But honestly Ahri's mobility is the biggest reason why I would be most invested in that pick- it's just I don't want to buy a champion I will never get to play in ranked. Syndra seems the coolest/funnest but that learning curve is intimidating. Also her knockback seems like a good getaway which helps her case in the mobility issue- so that's a positive.

What are your thoughts and if there is another champion (perhaps your favorite) you would suggest please let me know! Thanks!

Blue Ezreal mid, no joke, can be really strong; watch Faker play him in OGN, he's been dominating as him. You can also build AP Ezreal if you want, he can also be very strong. The strength of a pick depends on how you play them, and Ezreal is one of the more flexible champions in the game in terms of builds, etc. If you want you can seriously just buckle down and become an Ezreal one-trick-pony, learn all his builds and match ups and just become really good at all of them.

In terms of what I'm playing, honestly I'm just playing Morgana, Annie, and if I'm feeling a bit more confident mechanically (and depending on the match up), Orianna (leaning more towards Morgana lately; just had a losing streak with Annie and I might need to go sharpen up my skills again). They might be boring to most players (sometimes you gotta find ways to like the 'boring' stuff), but they're very consistent for me, and hard to screw up (it's easier to lose a game off mistakes than win a game from #lcsbigplays).

First, play what you like playing, not what's "op" right now. That said, The strongest mid laners right now include: Cassiopeia ,(very high learning curve, don't pick up unless you're committed to spend some time learning her) Leblanc ,(basically the highest kill pressure out of a mage, so many option with her ult, she can do tons of damage, have tons of mobility, or lock someone down forever.) Xerath (Huge poke damage, has a pretty safe laning phase, and has great teamfights. Unfortunately, all of his spells are skillshots, so if your not very good with those, I'd recommend against him.) Ahri (Basically fits into any comp, great pick potential, true damage on her orb, lots of mobility.)

Now these are just the strong champs right now, the meta shifts, and next patch they could all be garbage tier. So once again, I stress playing what you like, rather than what's strong in the meta.

Swain and Vlad are good because they counter the meta of the assassin mid. Cassie is a massive lane bully, but you can get caught out with ease.

between the 3, i would go Syndra. Ahri is banned alot in low elo as you said and cass is an extremely hard champion to play. Syndra is a much quicker "fix"

http://champion.gg/statistics/#?sortBy=general.overallPosition&order=ascend&roleSort=Middle

Look over the numbers, then go look at individual details (especially the win rate vs game length graphs).

The stats are for high elo, which shows what you can expect once you get good with the champions and are facing opponents that know how to play against them.
