Honest tip, like all other posters will say, is cs. I personally enjoy (main) Ahri because she lets me mix work with pleasure- while I cs a minion I can usually smack the enemy laner with the back end of my orb which deals all the damage the same time. A good way to win mid lane is to do that. CS is priority two, priority one is safety. If you die, you aren't as valuable to your team (or your enemy in terms of gold per kill). It's hard to give vague tips, got anything specific? I'd be more than happy to help, keep in mind I'm stuck pretty hard in bronze.
