Help for truly carrying the game

I duo with a friend and we almost always win bot lane (90% of the time), but as we've climbed the elo ladder it's gotten harder to carry after laning phase. What can I do as support to better help my team do well in their lanes? Or what can we do late game to better help our teammates and get the win? Any suggestions either for me or for my carry are appreciated.

As a support get sightstone early, and ward the dragon, tribush, and the river bush. If you win your lane then go roam mid, help the mid laner push his lane and get the tower. Then go top and do the same thing. Control dragons with your vision. Don't just peel for your friend, peel for whoever's fed the most. If your midlaner has massive AOE and damage, but she keeps getting CCed to death, peel for her! So yeah just early vision control for objectives, roaming, and peeling are important for supports.

Have a massive team fighting presence. As a support your job is to throw CC everywhere, peel hard for your carries, keep vision around the teamfight to prevent your team from getting flanked.

Beyond that to help other lanes, simply roam, Alistar, Thresh, Nautilus have pretty potent roams, and can influence other lanes with one of those nasty hooks everyone hates, or of course the patented ali combo.

If you nab a kill in lane, look to take a dragon off of it, or roam mid. This can turn a small advantage into a much bigger one. Other than that, make sure you're adc stays alive as long as possible during teamfights, and ward properly to prevent people getting caught. Lastly, it's good to become good at shot-calling as support and jungle are the easiest roles to shot-call from, and when done right can turn the tide of games.

These have all been super helpful. I ward for bot lane really well, but i think what i can improve is roaming more if i have the health/mana and my carry is safe. I roam occasionally but more often then not i'll just back and buy after a kill. So that's something i can definitely improve. As for shot-calling that's also a great idea. Gotta build up the trust early game to get people on board for that kind of stuff. This is harder in solo que but when it works, it makes a huge difference like you said.

Roam...ward

If you can kill or do damage as a sup thats great it just makes everyones job a little easier...

Dont hesitate to secure a kill let them flame you or be noobs

Theres nothing worse than a sup who wont pull the trigger for fear of kids crying ks

Roaming is huge. If you win bot lane and then roam to pick up a kill or two mid you're pretty much guaranteed to win the game.

Buy lots of wards, upgrade your tickets and encourage your team to upgrade trinkets as well.

Keep an eye on the minimap. I can't tell you how many times I've saved a mid or top laner with poor map awareness by pinging as soon as the enemy jungler comes into view.

  1. Play Blitz, feed your carry bot.
  2. Run to every other lane being an absolute asshole for no reason.
  3. ???
  4. profit

  1. push objectives with your team from midgame onwards
  2. peel for your adc, dont "engage" or some bullshit. peel for him with your life.
  3. never leave him EVER. i hope i dont have to explain the word "ever" to you, but it means EVER.
  4. play champions that have cc and are sturdy like leona, alistar, nautilus. dont play "outplay" champs like thresh and janna. "outplaying" is nothing that carries anything
  5. dont go for 2on1 or 2on2 kills except if they present themselves for free. dont try to go for assassinations after the laningphase or fights on your own. always stay with your team and only split from them to get some quick gold while they do the same and then regroup.

literally, the "adc" isnt a carry, he is the teams damage support. he HAS to deal damage and you HAVE to make sure he can.

don't just sit in lane to 20 minutes, once your adc can cope on their own just roam like crazy and get your other lanes snowballing
