I have been playing riven for 90% of the games last week and I have gotten down the basic mechanics with poking and using the passive to my advantage, but I feel that my play making ability and team fighting is not up to par. Is there anyone who would like to help me learn to main riven? Thanks!
Elusiven2 votesOn a more serious note, just memorize her combos. A good combo for team fights is to proc your Q to do a knockup(Q wait 2 seconds repeat until your 3rd q is up) then R+Flash>Q knockup>AA>W, remember to do the AA>W really fast because they have a split second to flash or cc you if you don't do it fast enough. If your team doesn't followup you can disengage with a E>Q>Q>Q, i always go 40% cdr so my Q is back up by then. This is like the assassin combo for Riven. If you wanna survive team fights, get 1 item armor/mr.

Don't Q R. There will be a slight pause after R, which puts you in a disadvantage position if you use Q to engage.
It's better to E R, which cancels your ult animation and then Q right away.
A lot of Riven's in team fights just dive and think they can execute a ton of amount of damage. This is true if you're 3 levels ahead and 5/0.
Learn to track enemy cooldowns. Learn this first against your lane opponent. Then learn it in a team fight situation. I know it's hard to keep track of all 5, so just try to keep track of the important ones, like CC's.
Learn every spot you can wall hop. Learn every combo you can do with Riven. Combos are best used in duels.
Knowing how to play Riven well is not just through her kit, but through basic game mechanics. If you've memorized all champs CD to high degree, you can pretty much play any champ fairly well.

Step 1. Go to eBay and buy the cheapest keyboard you can find
Step 2. Load up a game as Riven and smack that keyboard up like a redheaded stepchild, hard as you can.
Step 3. Profit. You will have to buy a new keyboard every week but no one promised you that freelo would be free.
