How to get out of silver

I want to improve in League its just there is so much to learn. What is a typical silver players mistake that keeps them from getting to gold and what can I do to improve on that common mistake?

i don't know the mistakes. but teamfights instead of split pushing and getting objectives turns a losing a game into a winning one. come down from top to drag win a 4v5 push a tower it turns into a massive win chance. and not giving up when your getting your ass beat.
