Oh no! Another DoTA and League comparison, but this one has alot more words in it, baby.

Hello, and today I will be giving you one of the possible many threads you hath read regarding the ever obvious sibling rivalry between DoPA 2 and League of Lethargics. Now that's not to offend anyone because one is a reference to marijuana and the other is a tendency to no-life gameplay and sleep shortly after. But seriously, let me bring down the Bush administration and tell you that we're about to achieve "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED" status right on the caps lock. First I suppose you need background history... I am Ask Gandalf, a very popular prefix of this game back when there was threads about with input "Ask (prefix) __ (Champion Name) which was used back in maybe mid-2013. By putting Gandalf I hoped people recognize my love for the small wizardly bastard Veigar Greybeard. My actual Account is Count Tobi, whom was made in perhaps 2012 shortly after the release of wukong where the asian descent man gave me a champion spotlight of "Wukong, The Monkey King" when in retrospect it was "Wukong, The Wuju Monkey from Outer Space with no relation to the Journey to the West" When I first played I remembered sucking, sucking more than a straight man should. It was offending! Not only to my fellow players but my fellow readers who are looking at this thread and wanting to have me flagged, it's that the term coined. Eventually I got better, a hell of alot better, why in fact I would have called myself the best player in NA but many players before me sadly claimed that name.

(PLOT MOVES FORWARD) Eventually I became a level 30 and learned of ranked, and how glorious it was to play ranked. I remember the infinite rage I faced as people constantly bantered me with annoying cliche death threats of how much of a feeder I was. The days where I'd lock in top and tell my teammates that I do not care for their silly little whimpers and cries of sorrow because I will win my lane. And never did I succeed because of my ability to tilt after playing the game 27 hours a day, 300 hours a week and 5 million hours a year or weekend even. I was a good Cho'Gath player, and he developed my want to be a gentleman one day, because one day I might just be a demonic monster who just wants to love and be polite. Anyways this story is getting off track. Basically, in all seriousness, I remember a time when the game had some decency and recognized itself as just well that, a game. When splash art used to be ugly and horribly disfigured but very very accurate to the champions, and there was beauty in that, I loved that art style because it recognized the cartoon-like mission of the game. I joined this game from an MMOhut site I used to find all my games, with a 4.56 rating I certainly wanted to see what this was. WIth no friends to bring along due to my introvert nature and vagabond antics leaving my clans of various mmorpgs because they just wouldn't listen to my annoyingly caps locked voice. I always wanted loot in raids you can sure as heck bet I did. And after a year of gameplay I was satisfied, with all earnesty ranked was certainly horrific, and yes my grades dropped from staying up late at night but I'm not implying League even touched my life in a poisonous way, I'm just a lazy kid. I would go on the threads like you folks and look up interesting little fanfictions to my favorite champions or balance problems. But this is when the rant comes into play.

(REMOVED PARAGRAPH OF PAIN) The game wasn't always a mess of people who disrespect each other as a caste system of plated boundaries with shiny rocks like gold and diamond. But competitive games are like that. The game didn't make every single female champion have gigantic bozongas, or breast if you will. Well actually it did, but more subtly you know, audience friendly for little kids. Now you see giant cracks as big as a city street in Detroit, the bad side at least, then again what can a Georgia boy say about Detroit, my bad guys! Joke intended. Balancing became destructive after riven, while perhaps original in it's own way it was still very destructive and the balance team failed to recognize it and probably will still say I'm full of crud. The community progressively became a chronic smoker's haven because lung cancer was filling everyone's throat with all the bad air, but immigration from different games does that, bringing so many cultures and many mean people from cultures as well. Popularity is often more painful than people think.

As you can see I'm not trying to type too many profanity filters so my thread is reviewed with some courtesy. The judgemental mentalities when people read about DoTA from this game is very misplaced not because we DoTA players bombard your game on reddit, that's actually a good reason! But DoTA is like your Mother, she helped create you and it's a bit wrong to place your hate on her, when the game itself has worked hard to achieve a good spot for people that probably never would have recognized this genre as dominantly. It should serve as an example from hard work rather than extreme aggression from fanboys who jumped on Morellos' Bandwagon of OOM and/or DOOM.
(REMOVED ICEFROG REFERENCE) OH NO. Oh for a second I thought I was out of typing space... Anyways, DoTA 2 is like DoTA's bloodline daughter, and League of Legends is her step-son, and Heroes of Newerth is like DoTA's first cloned sister, no hate on my HoN boys though. Ultimately it might sound like I'm trying to reverend DoTA and in a way I am. Sure. But I want some players to recognize the bigotry, that they might hold misinformed. Futile as it might be, I hold some love for this game because some kits, are actually pretty unique, like Cho'Gath, and Veigar.
And no, Zed is not unique, Zed is not a playmaker he is honestly just made in a way that seems unique because other champions have more bland kits. It's like, shining an yellow apple, in a basket full of other apples (some with worms even). Multiple abilities also don't make a kit unique. In fact it causes them to repeat abilities and give them additional effects to compensate for them lacking any usefulness a four spell kit would have accomplished. The kits for hero reworks often follow a path of percentage maximum health damage, Gragas, Maokai; oh sorry I get in the habit of saying hero, I mean champion. Kits also accompany things like damage increasing based on the percentage of health missing, or knock-ups which are insanely overpowered because they have absolutely no counterplay as opposed to a stun and as a sidenote true damage. You might not think so with their short durations but the fact they cannot be reduced by any sort of tenacity making them equivalent to very short suppressions with no consequence to the other player that a suppression may have. As well as gap-closers. But more immediately, jump on said champion figures.
Yes I get it, the game is made of ADC's which are 80% ranged, if you can count some bruisers as carries. So there has to be gap-closers, okay, that makes sense. But then in which game, why make them all ranged to begin with? Because the game can't be fixed at this point because entire reworks would be necessary for ADC rosters. They would need to be switched to melee or very very short range. What they could possibly do is add more melee "Carries, not bruisers" but the problem with that is, they have to be bruisers. This game has become more focused on establishing control the allow ranged carries to kill people at a distance. If a melee is squishy, they will more than likely get absolutely demolished. Champions like Master Yi have been reworked to become honestly overpowered. They can be counterplayed, but they entirely destroy ADC's and even bruisers in a 1v1 which shows that Riot is losing it's options to properly balance Melee's against ranged champions. But that's one example. I would suppose this is just League of Legends unique feature, that ranged heros are supposed to destroy someone with the bravery to use their fists, but I would counter that by saying, why is that acceptable? Why is there no viability established for a game that (if I had references and links) they said would give people options to play in their own way or more simply, in the Champion choice.

There has to be choice, and I'm not saying for myself, because I just play GP bot if I damn well feel like it, but if you guys are actually going to say a game is decent, and have millions of players to support it. Then actually prove it. I don't believe the numbers Riot shows me, but I have yet to doubt people don't play this game with addiction. I'm just trying to make players realize there should be more choice, and people should have an option I mean like 50% of you guys are adults for Pete's sake. Establish something instead of being spoon fed boredom. It's not overpowered to be unique. The game has just made people ignorant to that because you take things for granted when a game deceives you with options. The handicap difficulty isn't a problem for me at all, it's moreso the imagination is lacking, and champions have no specific downright 'THIS IS WHAT YOU DO' role, they don't achieve something unique to the game that nobody else can do, yeah you probably hear that alot but I mean, anyone can kill anyone as a caster you masochist, anyone can 'assassinate' the ADC as an assassin.
We just get more excuses to pick this one that has a different visual look and some 'distinct' gameplay differences. It's the illusion of choice. Which is why you like to play for your champions with hours of gameplay. That's fine if you like to work for your prize I have no problem with that, I like doing it too. And what the hell can we do about it, riot is the one that makes these guys?! Well you see I like using the illusion of choice too, so figure that out for yourself. Anyways about the paying for champions with hard work, that's okay, but it's also a bit of advertising propaganda, a tiny bit, where you buy something expecting it to do something new and different and it does, but it was something someone else could do it just looks different, or it's a hell of alot more overpowered. I need to take a several hours break to rest my fingers but, I'll be back with second rant by maybe today if I choose to no-life it, (I TECHNICALLY DID THIS BUT I WONT REMOVE IT) that's January 21st, 2015 for my future self.
