does jeweled gauntlet work with heals/shields?

how does jeweled gauntlet work with things such as heals and shields. would jeweled gauntlet make ivern´s shield to be double the size? would it work with maokai´s passive? i know it works with vayne´s passive but that does dmg. thanks in advanced.
