Item Idea: Boots.

It sounds like it might be a waste of an item, but let me explain reasoning and combinations.

Reasoning: We have units that like to hop around a lot and also a melee vs range final 1v1 in a round. The melee dies half a step from the range who was low.

What would boots do? Movespeed for one. Make units move on the board more quickly. Thus letting then stick more easily to enemies/close the distance. Maybe Dodge chance if one wants to do something like Brawlers glove.

Combinations (not typing boots each time):

  • Needlessly Large Rod. - Sorc Boots
  • Recurve Bow. - Berserker Grieves
  • Tear. - Slightly Magical Boots
  • BF Sword. - Lucidity
  • Negatron Cloak - Mercury Treads
  • Chain Vest - Ninja Tabi
  • Giants Belt - Swifties
  • Brawlers Glove - Thieves Boots *(steal 1 item from enemy at start of round. Takes 2 slots. One for its icon one for stolen item icon.)
  • Spatula - Depends on Classes for set.
  • Boots - Mobis
  • I ran out of existing boot images in game that wouldn't cause confusion (like using Preds or Homeguards) [speaking of preds, up the number of preds. Boots + Spat = Pred. 3 preds execute at 10%. 5/6 preds at 25% or soemthing]

This is of course granted no items were to be removed. Also just a completely random idea. Hope you at least got a chuckle or maybe a cringe at the idea.

Tabis could go back to the 10% dodge chance they were originally before dodge got removed

I have actually thought through this and there are some particular problems.

  1. For starters adding an item to an already difficult Item RNG makes it even harder to complete necessary items
  2. Making abilities for each of these items would be a nightmare since you need to make some of them valuable for stationary champions. Otherwise you gimp a team when they get the item from creep rounds.
  3. This hurts other items like RFC which is already very weak since that decreases a champions need to move.
  4. In this set singed he would be stupid with any MS buff. Already a super strong champion giving him potential ms and tankiness (treads/tabis/glove) would be crazy. Would be near impossible to balance not to mention you could give him multiple types of boots.
  5. That being said how would boot stacking work? would there be a ms cap? would champions need kiting interactions to move away from melee champs? This seems to only effect a very small part of the game interaction for such an extreme change.

I always like seeing people's ideas for the game and sorry to be a bubble burster but just wanted to share my thoughts.
