TFT Leaverbuster

I remember before ranked TFT launched, there was a pretty big problem with AFKs. Someone explained to me that it was because it was an easy way to farm event tokens because you gain some even on a loss. Haven't had too big of a problem with it lately because I've been playing ranked, but I just queued up for a normal game on accident and there were 6 AFKS. Can anyone playing normals regularly tell me whether this is common? I play ranked most of the time so it's not a problem for me, but I imagine there are at least some people out there who want to play normals and would prefer not to autowin every game because 80% of the other players just have 1 or 2 champions that got autopicked from the carousel for them.

Does anyone know if Riot is planning to implement leaverbuster or something similar for TFT? I know an AFK on TFT isn't as bad as it is on SR because they don't have a team to drag down with them, but it seems like some sort of measures will be necessary if they want TFT to be a healthy game mode in the long run instead of just a people to go AFK and farm tokens.

I hope not.. I don't play the mode to intentionally afk but there are times I need to for 5+ minutes on occasion. I won't play SR/ARAM etc if there is a chance I need to afk where TFT I feel ok still playing if there is a chance because I can run fast and still not hose myself.

Since the afk doesn't hurt anyone except the one who afk's a punishment isn't necessary imo.

I have never had that many people AFK in my games. At most one AFK once in a long while. Play a little more and then come back to update to see if you still see this problem. Also, is your account low level? There may be some bots going in the game just to farm experience.

Nevertheless, since TFT is not a team-based game, I really don't care if people go AFK. Probably makes it even better for the two remaining players since it is a 1 v 1 situation that you otherwise cannot get.

I've been in games where three people with similar usernames or who are repping the same club name join together, and then 2 of them AFK immediately. I suspect some people are queuing with alts or low-level friends and tanking the heaviest LP losses with Iron-level accounts so that they're ensured 6th place or higher.
