Not sure how anyone can find this mode fun, it's RNG to an extreme

You either get more items than your enemies or you get lucky with rolls on champions so you can flood your board with tier 2s with multiple finished items while the enemy is still stuck on tier 1s with only half an item.

I have yet to feel like a single battle has been fair, either I stomp an enemy with itemless tier 1s or I get fucked by lucky assholes that somehow get every perfect top tier item on 4 different tier 2 champs that literally dwarf mine in the game.

Lots of trump card games (poker, black jack, bridge and even uno for arguement's sake) are based on RNG.

It's how you decide to work with the RNG that makes the game fun.

Poker is a pretty good comparison. So is backgammon. The RNG of TFT is comparable to card games and dice games. The skill of games like that is only present in looking at play over scores of matches. Like, the optimal movements for any game of backgammon are established. The real skill is judgement about using the betting cube over a series of games. Any one match of TFT is meaningless, but perhaps some judgement can be discerned over the results of scores of matches. Riot should give us some kind of a purse that loses (as well as gains). I guess that ranked play is supposed to take the place of the purse, in other such games.

Incidentally, completely re-rolling after the first couple players drop out is legit. I've done it and won.

It is indeed a gambling game, and it's readymade for gambling. You can enter with a party of 8 and bet amongst yourselves. I believe that is already being done.

Not any worse than the RNG that is matchmaking for solo Q.

Almost ever game of skill has an element of RNG to it regardless of what you wanna tell yourself.

TFT does have RNG but it is just an element of the skill that it is required to play the game. Imagine reacting instead of bitching about how it is "unfair".

I strongly appreciate the RNG in the game. RNG makes each game unique, and provides a lot more satisfaction when your dream comp comes into fruition. Also saying the entire game hinges on RNG is incorrect. Their are valid strategies which can be utilizes to gain an advantage without relying solely on unit drops and itemization. Resource Management, Re-rolling, and placement play a large role as the game progresses. Their are also risk/reward factors which can also be taken into account.

If items were entirely guaranteed drops the games would become boring. For the longevity of TFT the RNG is a necessary factor.

This is Riot we're talking about, they are never going to have TFT in an enjoyable balance, they made it to sell loot digital swag and to distract from their poor balance decisions about LOL.

I hate to say it, but people play it because of the RNG. It's a gambling game. It's not all about winning first place though, it's about working with what you have and seeing how far you can go.

I do think you can tweak the RNG to be more fair. It's just that it's also kinda the main appeal.
