What is the argument exactly against Hard resetting MMR on top of the LP ladder?

why make some players lose the game from the get go and have others win it from the get go? whats the purpose?

if im fighting silvers i would expect to have my mmr inflated till diamond and reach it in 30-40 games i don't see the reasoning behind having to play against diamonds for silver and to have to play 100-200 games just to reach the elo i ended up in the season

on top of the champion pool changing the grid and economy the game is completely different thus making the grind a feels terrible

Hard reset the MMR and let me climb through the pits of iron and bronze again why make this unnecessairly difficult i don't get it...

I fail to see how hard resetting the MMR would have done anything to fix that.

How tf would making everyone's MMR equal again prevent Diamonds from facing off against Irons? That would just make it easier

A fresh account in league starts in silver your first 8 games are in around silver and gold if you win all 8 of them you start playing against golds if you keep winning you start playing against platinums a lot faster but your elo gains become extremely inflated in 20-40 games you are playing against high platinums and diamonds but you are already in process of pushing to platinum yourself

now with the way the rank resets but the MMR doesn't you would be playing your first 8 ranked games against randomly arranged teams of ranks between silver and diamond imagine you playing your top lane for promos and your silver mid laner is against diamond mid laner you instantly lost the game even if you get to smash your lane because of the same difference

ie you are coin flipping your games in an elo that you should be smashing in and instead of quickly getting out and ruinning less games the system forces you to stay in lower elos for longer

it's not git gud to climb scenario it's just play 200 games to get back to where you were until the system averages out your mmr/elo

This is a different thing because everyone in tft got hardreset to iron so thats why former diamond people are with silver people in the same game. In Lol the matchmaking is just broken because of smurfs and trolls so there is 0 control over there.

Better than forcing the high elo players to painfully and slowly climb back to their last season elo LP wise because they dont gain much LP even though they’re playing vs last seasons high elo players?

Its faster for them to just make a new account and climb on it instead of spending 50+ games only to climb out of fake “bronze” (fake because again, for them its filled with high elo players)

If riot is going to hard reset then they needed to hard reset MMR too or this happens. Its that or do a soft reset like normal league gets.

Yea doing a hard reset was pretty stupid when they dont reset the MMR.
