The fact that you only need 3 champs to get the full buff is broken. you get a free tank and then can build into more bullshit like glacial and ranger. so you have infinite aoe damage, a free tank, glacial in the back for cc to death and rangers or more tanks. i dont see the counter to that
agreed, the elementalist + glacial combo in particular is ridiculous. considering how strong elementalist and glacial both are by themselves, the fact they can build into each other so easily with Lissandra and Anivia is just BS (and of course Ashe will be sprinkled on top).
The trade off is having 3 characters that probably don't really synergise with the rest of the team. Lissandra doesn't really fit into any team unless it's glacial.
Biggest bullshit in TFT is Glacial.
Lissandra is Deadweight, and Kennen is expensive and really "meh feeling. Only time I go for Elemantalist is if im struggling to put anything together.
its a high cost team synergy, you wont be able to build straight into elementalists so its something you pivot into, id say its in a good state now bc you need to find the high cost pieces (whereas most strong synergies have 1cost units that you can start with and build into the synergy)
The golem has better survivability than a t3 tank/brawler and with the horrible AI in this game, its placement attacts the attention of 75% of the opposing team. It is way too strong for a 3 unit synergy.
Honestly, Anivia is annoying to get. I don't understand why Brand comes out so much more compared to the bird. The plight of the "Herald of Frozen Death" build is that it is completely LATE game with HIGH cost in both gold and enduring losses. It takes a long time to get units and even longer to tier them if you ever the chance.

I have had my share a losses by simply not having enough health by the time I get anything going. Its pretty painful at the beginning.
I have been completely annihilated by wild/brawler(the f'ing knockups), assassin/blademaster (everyone body one/two-shots all your units), noble/blademaster (healing circus), or noble/sorcery combos since forever. Especially when they get Yasuo, Aurelion, and/or Karthus (ffs).
By no means is "Herald of Frozen Death" unstoppable when it is incomplete, outnumbered, and/or undertiered.

But, boy does it feel good giving everyone the middle finger when it works.
And no, Lissandra is not useless. She is especially useful for freezing the enemy backline which is always hilarious. Even better when she pulls assassin leaps then freezing herself with AOE damage, and buying time for the rangers to finish killing whatever they are shooting then turn around and kill the assassin. She is not suppose to be Veigar or Morgana with ice.
