Because they wanted a 5 star ranger? Simple as that. Rangers main carry is ashe a 3 star unit. But everyone else has a 4 star or 5 star unit that could be called their "carry". That is your answer. Plain and simple.

Kindred is a 4 cost ranger.

Not every class has to be represented in 5 cost, or even necessarily should be. And even if you do want a 5 cost ranger, pick an actual ranger champion!

But kindred dmg is bad compare to ashe and varus. Her main use mostly come from phantom buff and her ult to protect your carry ranger which is why I dont see Kai’sa as a main threat since she will jump behind.

Why does she have an assassin mod is a more apt question.

Void now is actually both Void + Assassin + Brawler. Now you don't need some other species to make a team. You go full Void, turn Rek Sai and Kass into Assassins, and watch them slaughter everyone.

Is reksai viable as an assassin? I haven’t tested that myself but theoretically speaking if I had a kaisa I would do triple void assassins (kaisa khazix and kass) and leave reksai and cho for brawler frontline to decorner, then most likely build towards six assassin (probably eve, zed, rengar) and leave gnar for the final unit for wild bonus for rengar + some more cc/displacement

Although now I really wanna try assassin cho just for the fun of it. Will it be a mistake? Probably but wish me luck

Rek Sai can self heal, so yes. She's fine as an assassin. It's not needed, but it goes toward the assassin bonus, and benefits from the True damage.

all voids work as assasin, the crit/truedamage combo is just to strong. Reksai has more base dps than kassa and can heal/agrodrop so imo she's even better than him And cho has the highest base ad of the void, so his crits will hurt.

If they wanted a 5 stars ranger, Twitch could be ranger+hextech, or something like that.

I like this idea, but i'd say he'd be like...Ranger + Wild (cuz he's an animal) plus that combo would be insane for a 5 cost unit , making it worth his special move can be his Spray n Pray ult, letting his basic attacks pierce units at a very far range

You cant add an hextech with a ranger tag because it will be the ultimate lockdown team. I did 4 demon which both ashe and kindred have the demon item just kindred alone could ult 3 time in a round it was kinda funny to see.

Kai'sa doesn't have guns. Her attack animation shows her emitting void spikes from her hands.

Guns?!??! Are we looking at the same champion?? Kai'sa uses her HANDS to fire void energy. She also has mini missile launchers on her back which also aren't necessarily a guns, as they fire missiles of void energy.
