TFT RNG Gold in Item Boxes

Why is this still a thing? Items are a HUGE part of the game and it defeats the whole point of changing the minion so they don't drop nothing like before because the gold is basically nothing so its no different. Some people get items like candy and others (like myself) are hard pressed to get 1 or 2 base items from the minions before stage 5. I've played 6 games tonight and have gotten 4 base items from minions TOTAL (lasted till stage 5 almost every game, 1 was 4-6). In my last game 3 people got more items off the starting 3 minion stages then I did in all 6 games combined. It's ridiculous.

I would take 1 item over all the gold I got in each game, the gold given is useless pre stage 5 especially now that it is harder to get champs you need and after stage 5 you have probably already lost or are about to because those who are left have 4 - 6 full items already. When you lose a game because 3 people are running yordle and you can't make a rapid fire cannon (after STARTING with a recurve) its really stupid. Items are worth more then the gold these boxes give by a huge margin, even when the gold scales it is still a slap in the face because its chump change in comparison. Either up the gold given (by at minimum 3 times) or remove it all together because it determines who wins and who doesn't more often then not.

Sometimes the gold is better than the items, especially given the catchup mechanic on items which causes more items to drop in the later rounds if you don't get them in the earlier rounds. If you get all gold early on, you are able to econ hard and get 3-4 cost champions much earlier, which translates to a pretty significant advantage. If you can survive until Raptors with minimal items, this sets you up for a very strong finish.

exactly Sometimes I don't mind using 5 extra gold for early win streaks, but sometimes I get 1 coin in 1-3 while some other player gets like 3 items like wtf also I don't understand why do they have to make it like "if you got coins in one box, you are not getting any items, guaranteed" like why? They want to make us feel that coins are equivalent to items but everyone clearly knows items are better.
