When there's a Tie, why do we both lose?

Two games in a row, two people lost at the same time. They came in 4th and I came in 5th but I'm pretty sure they're coming in 5th too because it's happened every time. Never when this happens do I come in 4th, even though I'll die last (I like Redemptions). Is anyone else experiencing this? It's a big deal in ranked.
