It's 100% NOT RNG and it seriously needs to be fixed
Set 1 was fine. The champ pool was alright, and the concept of watching the board made sense. Set 2.... not RNG. Riot, you seriously need to fix this. It is completely unbalanced and results in nothing but lack of skill and total frustration. This game won't become competitive as you want if you don't create a competitive field. If you play poker and someone draws from a deck full of 1s, 2s, and 3s, and but there are only enough to ever get a single pair or two pair and then give the other team a royal flush, there isn't jack player 1 can do to win. You can't call that competitive and you CANT say you need play the hand dealt to you.
I have realized in set 2, you seriously need to luck out to win. I can't tell you how many times people have said, "Man, nice comp. Great build! Way to play!" when my only response is, "This is the only thing that showed up on my bar..."
I have played games where I have been given 7-8 of the same champ in before the first PVP fight only to NEVER see the champion appear again. Meanwhile, one to two other people have made those champs gold.
I have played games where I have been given a silver champ on the first bar only to make it to STAGE 6 WITHOUT EVER SEEING THAT CHAMP ON THE BOARD AGAIN!
I have played games where three people are going Kog, WW, Skarn/Ren only to have my entire bar filled with Kog, WW, Skarn/Renek. The moment you join that pool, all four of you lose. But guess what? Nothing else is showing up!!!
I have played games where I have held on to a level 1 champ on my bar through stage 5. I never see that champ AT ALL, so I finally sell it. Guess what?!?! That champ shows up every reroll. Wow... weird.. You might say, "It is because you sold it back." Really? So the low % of a level 1 champ at stage 5 yields that SAME champ every reroll even though I never saw it up to this point? BS.
Here is my thought, and I am pretty sure I am right. There isn't a set pool like you say. You DON'T have 29 lvl 1 champs each with the high %s you claim through level 4. What happens is your bar likely gets pooled with maybe two or three other players. In that pool is a random set of champs. You don't get a selection of every champ. You CERTAINLY don't get the full pool of 29 level 1s and so on. This is why you don't see certain champs in an entire game. This is why if you are competing for a champ and two players who have them die DONT put them back in the pool, but oddly enough, if there is a third person with it and they die around stage 5, all the sudden your pool is full with that champ.
You broke something, and you need to fix it. No one can strategize around this. You can't go into a game and go, oooh I am going to counter olag with a thormail. No you wont... you won't ever see a thornmail. Or you go, oooh, I am going to go 4 shadow and amp up this kindred you gave me 6 of.. No you wont, because you will never see Sion show up. The best you can do is go, "Ok.. I got Neeko and Kog and some shells... and this other guy has a gold veigar... let's see.. if I place these two in the bottom left, maybe that will help..."
FIX IT!! No on is going to play or watch your shitty competitive TFT if is a shit pool of randomness where the winner is no better than a slot machine winner.
