TFT Very Fun Concept... Too many major issues already though...

I have put a few hours into this game mode and have spent about double that time observing on twitch and have some troubling early impressions. The concept of the game is great, its got a solid foundation although the matches might want to be tuned to last longer or have higher ranked champs appear sooner to make them worth the wait/cost. My biggest issue with the game is not only how much RNG plays a factor into whether you win or lose, but the flat out balance of the builds as well. I understand this is in beta but for a company that manages one of the most competitive games on the planet, they really crapped the bed on giving this mode some decent balance. Assassin (crit) builds and ranged ADC's stacked in the corners completely dominate every other build not to mention you can completely negate melee picks by stacking your cards(champions) in the corner. This seems like basic stuff to have fleshed out before any type of beta testing... It seems to me they were going for more of a slow paced pick smart builds and synergy with your champions to win kinda game-play but it falls very flat considering you can just stack assassins that hit anyone and everyone for 2k+ on avg at 6 stacks. I think not only do they need to nerf that clearly but make the other builds more viable and easier to achieve, there are too few champion cards active right now with too few build types. And making it to top 3 consistently only to see people with single gold cards seems like a huge waste (I understand people have been able to stack and silver them I have too, but its too few for what they give you aside from maybe MF). Anyway this is just an early impression kind of discussion thread. I'd like to hear what other people are thinking.

Based on you saying that Assassin builds "dominate" all other builds, you haven't spent nearly enough time in the game. In the higher levels you rarely see an assassin team win, because while it's decent early it falls apart late.

To expect to have even a remote understanding of a game with this many variables in a hours is absurd

In general people who complain about the RNG or "bad draws" are the same people who looks first to complain about their team in the main game than themselves.

Sorry but if you're expecting to play TFT and be able to force the 1 specific comp you want to play every game just don't even bother.

I know this is going to come off as nitpicky, but please in the future try breaking up your thoughts a bit with paragraphs OP. I genuinely want to read your post, but the "wall of words" is more taxing on a person's vision/focus.

I will say that i'd call them pieces or champions, not cards. This is very much not a CCG.

I myself have lost a bit of enthusiasm for this mode due to the unoriginality of many just spamming assassin/ninja comps. Variety would be nice. Whether or not they're strong in specific elos is secondary in my mind. Obviously the higher up you go, more people are capable of adapting and overcoming it.
