Hi, I just played the tutorial for league of legends and I got hella confused. I just spammed my keyboard. The tutorial didn't really explain what you had to do. It was just go! GO! GO! League of Legends has a similar control to a clicker game and other rpg games which you can play from your browser instead of downloading. The tutorial needs to be a more thorough walk-through. This is just my experience and no I didn't receive any pop-ups or messages explaining how to play if there is one. I know League is different from your average games trust me I KNOW. League looks fun so far but that's my only complaint as a new player.

I went back and tried it out for the lols and it really doesn't do a good job preparing you for Zed Yuumi Udyr Rengar Ezreal Darius Evelynn Zoe Yasuo Vayne Teemo Sylas Riven Katarina Kayle Kled Khazix Draven Chogath Gangplank Aatrox Akali Amumu Fizz Fiora Fiddlesticks MasterYi Tryndamere Pyke

the list goes on Its bare bones, better than the old one but still the bare minimum and doesn't teach item builds matchups, jungleing etc etc

The best bet is to try some bot games, or look into proguides or mobafire tutorials

It just put me in the game and the experience was EXTREMELY BAD. I played the introduction and the characters did more damage than I could do to them.

I downloaded client for TFT and just started playing summoners Rift about last month. Tutorial did not help me much at all either. As a result I just looked at some articles and youtube videos to get a better understanding of things like the Drakes and monsters in the jungle, items, runes, lanes and roles and all the other stuff that really confused me at first. All I did was google "League of Legends for beginners" and clicked some stuff that popped up. After I felt like I watched/read enough I played a ton of AI vs Player games I probably have like 150+ under my belt not sure. You probably wont have to play that many though. It took me a minute before I was comfortable enough to do Player vs Player but eventually I did. I'm still pretty bad but getting better after every single game, each time you die ask yourself what you could have done better in the situation or the time leading up to that situation. I've found that in forums and youtube comments this community is pretty friendly with newer players but in game not so much so just put a helmet on and be prepared for that lol. I also feel like I get matched up against and with players way above my skill level but I love a challenge so it's fine with the problem is they tend to be pretty toxic. People in the AI games I played were usually really cool and helpful though so when you are playing ask all kind of questions I'm sure they will help.

So yeah just google a guide, check it out, and than start playing. There is other stuff that the guides may not teach you that you will just have to seek out specifically. Personally I had trouble with getting minion kills and gold at first (something not really explained in depth in the beginner guides I viewed) I would always have like 50 or so minion kills and about 6k gold all the time while my teammates had 100+ minion kills and 10k + gold. So I googled best ways to do that specifically and found some videos on it.

Even after I looked at guides and things like that I was still a little confused. It was easy for me when I jumped in except I kept dying from basic attacks because they did more damage than my own every time I had a little bit of health left. The spells did a lot of damage and some of the items I used I didn't see any difference with them on or off.

I do agree, the tutorial for sure needs some changes!. Play some bot games, get used to the controls and dont forget to have fun and try what you like! Also, a tip which WILL come in useful. Mute people when they start flaming or making fun of you.

You forgot to notice, to have fun in PvP against perma banned players who are smurfing and destroying new players.

So good luck in the fields of justice new players, prepare your iron tilt-proof challenge.

It was challenging at first. If I play more often I'm sure I'll get used to it. Thank god no one has made fun of my bad playing style.

I will do that...if I can find the correct button that is. I've read a lot of articles about the toxicity towards other players. Thank god I'm a low level so I won't experience a lot of it since it's more toxic as you go up to veteran status (levels 30-40).

Lol count your blessings. In the previous “tutorial”, you could only play Ashe and it told you to build Thornmail on her.

The tutorial is incredibly outdated.

I did it when I started played in 2013, and it was already outdated, and suggested things that I later discovered where absurd, like playing a champion that is supposed to do damage and buying tank ítems.

Edit: I just got informed that at least they changed things like thornmail on Ashe. I guess it's something…

When I was attacking with basic attacks and watched other players they did more damage than all the characters I played with for their basic attacks. Why is that?

They were probably playing champions whose playstyles are focused around basic attacks. For example, champions like Caitlyn , Draven , MissFortune , Sivir , Tryndamere , Udyr , Jax , Fiora and other champs like them are meant to do most of their damage with basic attacks (also called "auto-attacks"), so they'll build items like item 3031 , item 3508 , item 3153 , item 3074 , item 3078 , and other similar items that make those basic attacks a lot stronger.

Whereas if you're playing more mage-like champions (i.e. Xerath , Veigar ) or tankier champions (i.e. Maokai , Zac ) your auto-attacks won't do as much because your champion's ideal playstyle is based around other things.

Hopefully that makes sense :)

League of Legends is very addicting and a shit storm but the only reason I'm scared to play the game is because I'll excel too much. As I play a game continuously for months I learn everything quickly and get addicted and it'll be the only thing I do. For League of Legends on the other hand it's scary to think about having to think about all your flaws before people start attacking you for no reason because of your playing style or something you did wrong.

players will find any excuse to talk trash to you. most popular one is your rank. ranks in this game serve no purpose other than to exert ego. even if you stick to only norms ranked players will play norms too and will trash talk you about it. back when i played i have seen every excuse players use to trash you. trust me. it is addicting but it is best to leave before you get too deep in.

Hello! Bit off-topic here but.. Glad to see another new player around, especially since a lot of lower-level games are filled with smurfs :( Personally, the toxicity in my games haven't been too bad, but that could be because I've been mostly playing with friends? Anyways, if you ever want another person to play with, please feel free to add me- I'd love another newer player to play some games with!
