It honestly didn't seem as bad before, but this iteration is completely and utterly random. I had 3 builds I could utilize reliably, in the previous version. In this one, I can't use any build consistently. I worked my way up to platinum fast and easy, before, but I refuse to play ranked at this point. It's truly nothing but luck at this point.
The RNG is just far too severe at this point.
This is how auto battlers work. It is an ultra-casual mode so bads can feel like they won something sometimes, just like battle royale games.
I wouldn't even say luck based, more like completely rigged to purposely hide away units and items that you need if you've been doing too well recently. Incredibly frustrating, not really worth playing.
TFT would be a decent game if there was some actual strategy involved.. but you are correct it is RNG and not worth playing IMO.
Maybe that's how auto battlers are but it was always too luck based for me. Maybe I got the wrong idea with the game being called auto chess but I feel the game is too much about eco and getting duplicate champs to upgrade and champs of the same set... and not enough about setting up the right team for the right job. The game is somewhat playable when it's 1v1 since you know who you're up against and can make adjustments. Problem is at that point your team is locked in more or less so you can only reposition champs which has less of an impact with all the champs that instantly teleport to a field on the board

It has always been a gambling game, main reason why I always found I can't stand TFT for more than a game or two every month at most. Do you know why FNATIC doesn't have a Hearthstone division? Because they only play games that are based on skill, not those that are luck based. You should know what you're getting into with TFT.
COMPLAINING ABOUT RNG IN A RNG BASED MODE
If u only use 1 comp, yes its luck based. But if u know how to use multiple cores and playstyles, not so much luck.
I am inclined to agree with you to an extent..however if this was purely RNG based we wouldn't see the same people on the top of the ladder in ranked this season as well as last season.

I found it fun when it released but then it started to get really bad after around the first week. After that it felt extremely rigged even with knowing what you need to setup or do.
Please do explain how I've been top 2 in about half of my recent games. It isn't because I'm lucky. It is because I use what I get. Your problem is that you are going for things. Don't go for things until you just happen to get them.
Predator is unfun to play as or against Renekton is like jesus in tft PD and claw need total reworks

I had a few games top 2 and then after that I got bottom 5 for a few. Depends on who gets the win boys or a bonus spatula.

It needs to be more luck based!!! games are far more entertaining for me when things go unexpectedly. Planning & thinking are so boring sometimes, luck based games are more refreshing.

I've tried since the elements thing and it just feels too cluttered, there's so much stuff out there getting something reliably seems tricky.
