So am I.

  • About the team: The goal right now is to put together a solid group of regular players for Ranked 5v5's, and the occasional Draft and ARAM. We'll decide on times to practice together, figure out which roles work best for whom, and establish a voice chat platform. Right now, it's very casual, and it'll stay that way until we start getting good enough that casual isn't enough any more.

  • About me: I've been playing since season 6. Ended in Silver, stuck at Bronze I this year. I've spent at least three months maining every role, and can play them all solidly for my level. I've spent the most time in mid and top, but I'm willing to give those up if a teammate can do a better job.

  • About you: Any rank, any role, as long as you're willing to learn from/teach other teammates. You do have to be at least level 30. That much is practice that you need in order to make any kind of contribution to the team. More than anything else, attitude and aptitude are what I'm looking for. If you feed because you don't listen, rage for any reason, or AFK because you're tilted, move along. You're exactly the kind of people I want to avoid.

So, our game didn't go well, and that's okay. Everyone on our team was deep in the negatives pretty early. Since you decided to just quit Discord and unfriend instead of trying to figure out what we could improve in both our roles, we won't be playing again, and I'll leave my feedback here.

If your support hooks the enemy support instead of the adc, do a little damage to him, and then pull back. A landed hook is a gift of free damage on someone, and they're not easy to land on a moving champion at all, let alone a specific one. Use it. Otherwise, your gameplay was okay, we just needed more practice.

On an outside the game level, it's immature and rude in the extreme to just run away from a conversation because you don't know how to contribute. You're gonna have a hard time trying to be part of anything collaborative if communication still makes you freeze up like an adolescent.

You also cannot say this individual is immature because he left his "tryout" because he felt like the team was not the right fit for him. It actually shows your immaturity as a leader and team manager to go publically on the forums to insult his gameplay. My recommendation is to not grab the first 5 ppl that reply to your post. Dig a little deeper and have conversations with your applicates to see if their individual goals as players match your goals you are trying to establish for your team.

My advice if I were to speak truthfully though is join a team rather then creating one. You can tell this was the heat of the moment thing for you after a bad game thinking if a team was behind you your games would go better but you failed to lay out any groundwork for recruiting, exceptations, or structure. On average a good team on league that will last takes anywhere between 4 - 16 weeks of recruiting players until you have a solid line up that gets along and will consistently make a schedule practice.

Thanks for the good advice. I'm starting to see that I'm going to have to vet people a lot better if I want anything besides the same kind of players I'm trying to get away from. I've considered joining a pre-existing team, but I haven't found one yet that hits the sweet spot between trying to make LoL a part-time job, and just functioning as a hub for people to get high and giggle in voice chat.

I disagree with what you say about the tryout. Leaving after saying it doesn't feel like a good fit would be totally fine. Immediately clicking out of Discord and unfriending is not fine, and is immature, exactly like I said. I did not insult his gameplay. I insulted his rudeness, and it was well-deserved. I don't want people who will do this on my team, and putting it here makes that obvious, both to him and to anyone trying to figure out what the team is supposed to be like. And there's the off chance that he'll come back here and read it, and, hell, maybe learn something from it. If no one ever calls you on anything, you end up disconnected, entitled, and oblivious...just like the rest of the world. I'm aware that I'm not going to change the world by calling out one young person in an online forum on his poor social skills. But if I do nothing, I'm part of the problem.

I get the feeling that you may have missed the part where I said, "Right now, it's very casual." This is less a heat-of-the-moment thing and more of a first-attempt thing. I'm not a team manager, an esports investor, or a public relations executive. If my post comes off as unpolished, it's because it is. I'm one person, who does not play LoL for a living, looking for four other people to play with so we can enjoy the game as a competition instead of a lottery. That's it. I will learn as I go, from messing things up, from good advice like parts of yours, and from getting some things right.

I play league I dont do much else, uhhh I can play weekdays mon-fri after 5-9 I might stop to eat in between that and weekends I can play up to 12 hours I need at least 8 to sleep and 2 to eat may be slightly annebriated during the later hours during those day unless we doing some serious stuff such as scrims or sum, I play mid lane but know the in's and out's of all roles and am willing to learn and adjust accourdingly I only like midlane beacuse playing by myself makes it hard to carry on the other roles. i'm not funny, i'm not cool, i'm not interesting I just love the game.

IGN: Lil AntiChrist Bouncing back and forth between S5-S3 I'm a Satan Main, but I can play any role with a decent champ pool. I've similar goals as what you described above! I don't like that Riot has been pairing me with feeders, flamers, and afk's especially this close to the end of the season but it cannot be helped. I'd like to become a better LoL player for myself and for a team aspect. I know some things I have to and have been working on, but would love teammates that know how to approach after game and help me build on my skillz as well as team play. Rare that I get tilted, but if I do I simply become quiet and try to turn it around - Focus. Lemme know :3
