Developing low elo team with long term goal of climbing to high elo
Vision My most memorable games have always been with a team where we are on the same page. When you get that team where everyone understands their role, rotates seamlessly from objective to objective and continually pushes our vision forward as we take more and more of the map. There’s nothing better than that in league. Amongst all the trolls and the ragers and the people who think they deserve challenger I’ve really begun to miss that. My goal is to have a group of 20-30 players who are committed to improving their play and who are familiar with how everyone else in the group plays so you always have people you trust that you can group up with for ranked.
Moral code Treat all players with respect. Constructive criticism is encouraged but if you flame or blame your teammates then you will be removed from the group. Also, don't bad mouth the other team. We practice grace in victory, humility in defeat. No one has the answers to everything. Keep an open mind, listen to your teammates, and always try to make yourself and others better.
Requirements
- Players of all elo can join. If you are higher elo you will be expected to take on more of a mentoring/coaching role. If you are lower elo you are expected to keep an open mind and actually listen to other people on your team (even if you think you are right.)
- There is no age requirement but 18+ is preferred. If you are less than 18 then you are expected to act like an adult and other players on the team are expected to treat you like an adult.
- Voice communication is required. Default program will be Curse though I am open to using other programs if all other members in a group agree.
- Interest in high level/LCS games is required. As a group we will frequently discuss high level games and what strategies from those games we can incorporate into our play style.
- Watching game replays is required. One of the best tools for us to improve is to watch our own replays. Every player is expected to watch a replay of each team game they play and take notes not only on their play but their teammates play. We will regularly discuss these replays, identify mistakes we made, and focus on improving those mistakes.
Play times There will be a shared google document where you can post your schedule and your normal play times. I will coordinate "meet up times" for various groups of 5 so we can practice team tactics.
Joining process
- Any person can join as an initiate. Initiates can play normal games with team members and can be involved in all team discussions. After playing several weeks with the team (which can be shortened or lengthened depending on how often you play), I will take recommendations from other people on whether to make you a team member.
- Once a team member I will give you access to our player database and ask you to fill out your player page. Your player page will consist of your role preference, your champion pool, your availability, notes on things to work on, etc. As a team member you can play ranked games with other team members. You will be expected to participate in team discussions and review all of your replays.
- Initially, all team members will get an opportunity to be shot callers. As team members become more comfortable with each other I'll conduct votes on who should be shot callers for the team.
Note This is not a short term process. I'm not looking to find random people to play ranked with. The whole purpose is to build up trust between players so that when we go into ranked as a team we absolutely dominate people and rise in ranked quickly. This is an investment that will take several months to pay off.
If Interested Respond to this post with the following information:
IGN: Age: Role Preference: (include all 5 roles) What you are good at: What you need to improve on: What is your play style: What are your pet peeves: Will you watch your replays: Will you watch LCS games:
Example (my info) IGN: Randomonium Age: 30 Role Preference: ADC/Mid/Jungle/Support/Top What you are good at: Taking towers early, recovering when behind, not throwing a lead, shot calling What you need to improve on: CSing under tower, wave manipulation, roaming, closing games quickly when ahead What is your play style: Punish enemy mistakes. Focus on minimizing mistakes and not over extending. Establish lane dominance and take tower early. Tower/objective/rotation focused. Emphasis on warding. What are your pet peeves: people who start baron/dragon without sweeping/pinking for wards, flaming/toxicity, blaming others, not pinging/communicating, not looking at death timers and dying once the enemy team respawns. Will you watch your replays: Yes Will you watch LCS games: Yes
