[New Game Mode] Introducing Practice Mode

{{summoner:10}} Reposting due to popular demand.

In this enhanced player-controlled practice mode, or Summoner's Sandbox, you would be able to adjust the game in a large variety of ways. This will allow players to practice skills and test mechanics, find bugs for making a detailed report to Riot, or just to fool around without the normal constraints of a Custom Match.

Toggle gold costs - You can enable to buy any item you want, from level 1.

Manually adjust your level - You can level up normally, and/or you can simply adjust a slider.

God Mode - You can enable this so you don't have to worry about dying as you test something out.

Control AI - Add or remove any enemy or ally AI at any point, make them passive/aggressive, change their items/levels/abilities, increase/decrease their difficulty setting, make them go to a certain lane or position on the map.

Change champion - Like the AI, you can swap your champion at will from the menu, and also your Mastery/Rune/Spells.

Reset CD / Adjust total CDR - Reset all your skill CD's so you can use it again for testing, or simply set the CDR high.

Reset all towers/minions/neutral objective - Start the game from scratch so you don't lose/win while you're still trying to play.

Available on all maps!

Players are an enormous source for discovering bugs in the game, but when they want to make a decent Bug Report, they either have to go off what they remembered seeing, watch a replay (which they rarely have), or most importantly/effectively they try to reproduce the results so they know for sure what happens and under what circumstances.

For me, this mode would be about either testing bugs to report, or gauging the effectiveness of certain builds without spending 40 minutes in a solo Custom farming gold then losing/winning because of minions.

Commenter Suggestions;

  • No Respawn Timer
  • Remove Turrets from the map, spawn minion waves from any/all points
  • Homeguard buff without boots (each time you enter fountain)
  • Alternatively, an open Arena for battling player prompted waves of minions/Champs
  • Enhanced AI directions (i.e. tell them to push an objective)
  • Realtime Stat Tracking (DPS, GPM, etc.)
  • Dummy targets for you to wail on which you can adjust its Runes/Masteries/Items/Level

I would love a sandbox mode. I made a thread about it but I can't seem to find where it is, somehow it disappeared. When I made a custom game for myself with no players/bots/ip xp gain/no anything, I wanted to practice flashing and I thought it was really inconvenient to wait every 300 seconds to be able to flash again.

-TL:DR: ALL players regardless of skill level or experience would benefit significantly from a mode such as this. NOBODY likes wasting hours of time to practice or test mechanics and builds in a custom game or COOP where 95% of your time is spent doing things you already understand while you farm or wait for cooldowns.

This would be a very great thing. I often find myself avoiding ranked games and burning through multiple team builders or customs to "practice" a champ i am new with and even then you aren't guaranteed the match ups that you actually need practice with. If anyone has seen or played Heroes of the Storm they actually have a sandbox map specifically for this. You can level up at will, reset minions and bases and you can even play a champion you don't own in the sandbox to find out if you want to purchase them or not.

Honestly after the long history League has had, it's a shock that we as players do not have something like this in our hands already. Its very clear that new players or even players new to particular champions can cause others to experience poor games as a result. yes, toxicity will always exist BUT having a mode such as this would allow people to practice and improve their skills MUCH more efficiently and without having to burden a team with their lack of experience on a champ or with the mechanics in general.

Currently we only really have custom games or bot games both of which can take immense quantities of time to do or test or practice what you intend to practice which is VERY unappealing. ESPECIALLY for those whom may not have much time to play they do not want to spending most of their play time practicing.

In conclusion I feel this would be beneficial to to the health of League as a whole. For bug testing and for player knowledge. This would be nothing but a positive for Leagues future!

i've always wanted this, and i think it would be good to not put yourself into bad situations in game where you're trying something new just for testing purposes and there are those who are trying hard to win and you won't have to be letting them down, and obviously you don't want these people in your games when you're trying to win either.

This kind of thing would be incredibly useful to players for a couple reasons:

  1. Players would have the ability to learn the second half of the game without having to wait through the first half every time.
  2. Teams would be able to practice team fights with different compositions together/against each other.
  3. New and creative strategies could be created with more freedom to learn without having to worry about ruining teammates experiences.

This would be very fun. I am quite sure that this will reduce a certain amount of gameplay questions as people would try it themselves in this mode. summoner 4 Especially practicing flash.

I love this idea because currently i want to try various champs to find out who i want to actually get but, because they aren't in the free rotation, there is 0 chance i know what i get when i go to buy or when i do buy a champ is there another one who suits me better. Plus with the other options it would be easy to test all situations. give this man a item 2009

In this gamemode, is that possible to play at 5v5 ? or just with an other people in your team/in the enemy team ?

I think that a good idea because farmind alone is "easy" and with bots "easy-- -- " and versus player it's harder. So if you can just farm versus a player like the 10 first minutes and after restart the game with nothing (and don't have to disconnet and creat an other game)

(Sorry for my englsh)

I've been wanting something like this since Urf came out. I got so good at flashing the wider walls near top and bot with the low cooldown flash.

I'd love to see something like this.
