Can the Custom Game Mode get some more Customization?

I grew up with Starcraft 1, and spent a ton of time with both the simple map editor that came with the game and the third party editors that added more functionality. I absolutely loved it, and it was these custom modes that were great for testing things out and taking a break from the normal game.

League of Legends has a Custom Game Mode that is noticably lacking in customizations. You get to "customize" what map you play on and what champions the bots pick.... If you're really feeling adventurous, you could make a team where you mix people and bots on both teams.

***In short, Custom needs some serious help. ***

I'm going to make some suggestions here, and encourage anyone else to add their own ideas as well.


Basic Requests

1) Customizable Starting Level: Howling Abyss normally starts you at level 3. Other maps start you at level 1. You should be able to pick a starting level for everyone in the game. 2) Customizable Starting Gold: Similar to customizeable level, but with gold.


Intermediate Requests 1) Inbalanced Starting Levels: This is for an Underdog Scenario. An individual or team starts at a higher level than the rest of the players. This could easily create a 'team hero' scenario as well, where one player on each team starts at level 6. 2) Inbalanced Starting Gold: Same ideas as with levels, same reasons to have it. 3) Altered XP/Gold Income/HP Regen/Mana Regen: We already have game modes with these types of features, just let people adjust the sliders themselves.


Advanced Requests (I realize this is where things could quickly get out of hand from a programming perspective. Some of these would be better suited if there was another program used to create the game mode. Realize that these would most likely not be implemented) 1) Team sizes greater than the recommended: I'd probably keep this in such a way that the game was limited to 10 players, but could get skewed as bad as 9v1. 2) Adjustable Jungle Creep Stats: Respawn times, XP and Gold rewards, buff rewards,etc. 3) Adjustable Tower Stats: HP, Resistance buffs, range, damage, etc. 4) Adjustable Minion Stats: HP, range, damage, spawn rates, etc. 5) Map Thematics: Doombots had a dusk feel to it, Assension had a sandstorm. That type of thing 6) Restrict Areas of the Map: See Assension.

Hopefully that at least gets the gears turning. I know DOTA has a custom game maker that's very powerful, I'm just hoping we can get something that's actually worth of the word "custom".

Messing with the HP and Mana regen of champs would probably be complex because those are likely integrally tied to the champoin itself. However I do really like the idea of Gold and xp sliders, both starting and per 5 seconds. Interesting idea, maybe Riot can find a time to fit this in to their schedule of updates

I agree, some of this stuff would be really nice for playing in custom games, Smite actually already has this and it's tons of fun to just set it to max level with an outrageous amount of gold, then just watch the pointless slaughter unfold.

The idea is fairly standard throughout the game industry. I wonder why Riot hasn't chosen to do it yet.

I'd love to bump this. I don't understand why this got minimal attention, lots of people want it, but they just aren't trying to get it in the game. I, too grew up on starcraft 1 and absolutely loved making maps and making my own features.

I believe that if we gave this topic enough discussion and enough people supported it, we could integrate it into league of legends within a year of the idea.
