Let's talk about HA's new heal debuff

I shouldn't be forced to reroll when I get Soraka. You should balance champions per map like you were going to do!

These changes are a glimpse of balance so that you don't end up in a 4v5 because you have a Soraka!

-20% self-healing effects (self-heals, lifesteal, spellvamp) Mana regen reverted to previous patch

Soraka Astral Infusion now 80/120/140/160/180 and now costs 4/5/6/7/8% max hp + 40/45/50/55/60 mana from 120/150/180/210/240 and 10% max hp + 20/25/30/35/40 mana. 4 seconds at all ranks from 4 -> 2.

Wish now 100/200/300 from 150/250/350, same cooldown. Healing now increased 50% for allies below 30% from 40%. (450 base heal at max rank with 50% boost)

Sona Aria of Perseverance now 35/45/55/65/75 from 30/50/70/90/110, same cooldown and mana cost. No longer benefits from .5% more for every 1% missing increase.

Nami Ebb and Flow now 55/85/115/145/175 from 65/95/125/155/185 and now costs 90/100/110/120/130, same cooldown.

Janna Monsoon now 75/125/150 from 100/150/200 per second, same cooldown.

Nidalee Primal Surge now 35/75/115/155/195 from 45/85/125/165/205, cooldown now 18 from 12, now costs 75/90/105/125/145 mana.

Taric Imbue now 40/80/120/160/200 from 60/100/140/180/220, 16 second CD at all ranks from 18 -> 14, same mana cost.

Alistar Triumphant Roar now 20/40/50/60/70 from 30/45/60/75/90, same mana cost and cooldown.

Kayle Divine Blessing now 40/80/120/160/200 from 60/105/150/195/240, same cooldown and now costs 70/80/90/100/110 mana.

Not including AP ratios which could also be tweaked

Thoughts? The current debuff is disgusting.

OR +*LAZY ROUTE+*

-30% healing effects. Permanent GW is not fun for anyone.

Healers are still strong. Alistar is even harder to kill. Sona is still a totally skilless free win. Taric still dominates AD teams. Nami still has ridiculous utility (but shitty mana problems, or she'd be god tier). Soraka is still capable of the highest healing per second of any champ. You just can't focus on spam healing anymore (unless you go with a silly regen build, which you might want to try. I've read that people have made it work in SR).

This change was pretty lazy though. I guess riot forgot marksmen exist, because now they're basically impossible to kill without really good all-ins (good luck with that), because they heal themselves back up in seconds. Ranged lifesteal is endless, risk-free, resource-free sustain and definitely needed the same treatment as ally heals. It was too strong before and even at 50% it would still be strong.

50% was excessive -- it would have been better to set to penalty to 30-35%. The removal of the penalty on self-healing is a good "un-nerf" for champions like Mundo, Garen, and Vladimir. Yes, this change absolutely wrecks Soraka -- but all that means is max'ing out Starcall or Equinox now, and leaving Astral Blessing for last. Not applying the debuff to Lifesteal was short-sighted, but that's par for the course when it comes to Rito James™ and balancing anything that isn't Summoner's Rift. On the upside, perhaps in Pre-Season VI, we can expect Rito James™ to take another look at this change.

I agree, +1

Agreed.

I think it's actually -50% healing only to allies. They removed the decrease to self-healing, which didn't seem like a good idea at all to me, but whatever. They generally seemed really lazy when they did this.

I don't agree. In case you didn't notice, they increased penalty for healing others, but removed penalty of healing yourself. So if you get Soraka - then yes, you heal others for less. But you also heal yourself with Q for more, so you have more HP, so you can cast more heals. So in general, your healing isn't that much worse as you're trying to say.

And huge nerfs for heals was needed. Top 10 ARAM win rate was filled with healers, now they're somehow balanced. Except for Sona, but she's broken for different reasons.
