Optimizing Teambuilder

I have a couple of ideas that would help make Teambuilder better for everyone.

1- If someone specifies a role that they want on their team (ie top lane tank) And a champion who has a primary or secondary tank tag is available then it suggests them. For example Nasus is classified as a fighter but he is almost always built tanky so it would suggest a Nasus if one is available and so on. I feel like this would help shorten queue times by a decent amount and even if you don't get exactly what you want you get the next best thing.

2- After joining a team you have to wait a certain period of time before leaving. This is to stop people from joining a team with only 1 or 2 people and instantly leaving because they're impatient even if the team has just been made. So the more people there are the faster you can leave (incase you don't like the team comp or the champions.)

What do you guys think?

No.

  1. I don't want Leona to go top lane because someone wanted a top lane tank. There are also several fighter champs that make good tanks without the tank moniker.

  2. There are a few champions I really prefer not playing with - I'll insta-dodge if I see those champs.

  1. Its called kicking or not letting her join

  2. 30 seconds 30 DAMN SECONDS. it takes longer to heat coffee

Maybe I should rephrase the first one.

If I queued up for Leona support bottom lane, I don't want to go Leona tank top lane - that's not what I wanted to play. If I want to play wukong bruiser top, I don't want to play wukong tank top.

Regarding two: People insta-dodging will happen whether you want it or not - a small time penalty isn't gonna do shit to stop them from doing it.

The second one is an interesting idea. But what if i enter a game with Teemo , Shaco , Urgot and Zilean ? I don't want to play that, and it's unfair that i have to wait a bit of time to leave. That will slow down the entire process.

I agree that the insta-leave because the team is not completed must be eliminated. It's hard to understand how, tho..

Ah but the way it would work is as follows:

1 person in the queue (the captain) - 30 seconds before you can leave 2 people - 20 seconds 3 people - 10 seconds 4 people - you can insta-leave

These are just rough numbers so don't take it literally. That's the basic idea though. Because i often make games and play a champion that most people would love to have on their team but because i'm the only person they insta-leave. Another problem I noticed is that ADC's and Supports tend to be the insta-leavers. They're generally the hardest to find so they don't bother wasting their precious seconds. Queues generally fill within a minute or two though so if people couldn't insta-leave because of the low amount of people it would be better.

For example imagine you joined, You're the only person except for the Aatrox that made the team. Now you like Aatrox so you stick around, then a Teemo, Urgot, Shaco and Zilean join. You can now haul ass to the nearest other team with no wait time.
