I while I enjoy playing a champ I don't own in other modes, where it really doesn't matter if you know what you are doing or not, it should NEVER be that you have "free to play" in ARAM.
This is NOT the time or place to learn a new champion, and it is the only mode that matters. Free to play anywhere else, but never in ARAM.

Plasma Servant2 votesI'm not a troll, I hate ranked, normals and generally anything on rift. There are lots of us. I don't know anyone that hates aram ... though it seems riot is trying real hard to make it so people won't like it.

The problem is that you're taking what is meant to be and almost unanimously considered as a fun mode far too seriously. If you're going to play a fun mode and take it super serious, don't get upset when everyone else doesn't treat it that way; grab a group of friends that want to tryhard it or just accept that it's actually not a competitive mode.

Minarde2 votes"Fun" and "competitive" aren't mutually exclusive. If you try to win, then it's a competitive mode. It may not be balanced for competitive, but it's still competitive. OP's taking things a little too seriously, yet people who completely screw around (e.g. AP Darius or something) aren't taking things seriously enough. Being on either extreme prevents other players from having fun.
GetMariahCarried3 votesARAM is the perfect place to try new champs. You can actually have fun even if you suck without people raging. In other modes, people have this bizarre belief that the outcome matters (Btw, it doesn't. It's a game. Grow up people.) In ARAM, you can (usually) get a decent group of relatively mature teammates who are actually there to have fun, not get pissy the moment a matchup with completely random players doesn't end perfectly for their team and terribly for the other.
If you think you should only get to play champs you've bought (under some weird assumption that the set of champs you've bought is equivalent to the ones you're good at, which isn't even true for 99% of players) then you've completely missed the meaning of All RANDOM, All Mid. It's about the surprise, not the "do what you do in every single other game all the time." In fact, I'm more interested in the exact opposite idea some people have proposed: make all champions available in ARAM, not just the ones you've bought and f2p.
What you're asking for is basically another game mode. It isn't ARAM and you might as well be asking Rito to remove ARAM.

NOT ARAM. it is the most important mode. There are so many people that only play aram. that hate normals and ranked. Nobody hates aram.

People that play ranked are always saying "that only happens at the lower levels, once you get up into the higher levels the trolls aren't there ...". What that sounds like to people like me is "beat your head against this wall long enough and you won't feel the pain any more." No thanks.
This is a game ... so in that sense, RANKED is strictly fun mode. If you take any of this seriously, you are in the same mindset of children that scream when they lose a game. But because it is a game where people can actually spend money, even if they never play a ranked game, riot ought to take them as seriously as anyone else.
Lugg1 votesRanked is supposed to be the serious mode where you don't try out new things until you have them down in Normals. That's why people who troll in ranked get banned or suspended. Dominion and Twisted Treeline would be serious modes as well.
Normals is semi-serious. It's where you try to win but you can try out non-meta champs, new strategies, different build paths, etc.
ARAM is just a brawl. It's pure fun mode where you try to get pentas and stuff. Same thing with the rare modes that come out like One For All.

I can better understand treating the temporary modes as "pure fun modes," but I don't understand why Normals would somehow be more serious than ARAM. Does being able to practice specific champs in Normals for ranked make it more serious? ARAM lets you practice rounding out your repertoire for ranked. I just don't get it.
