@Riot. Can you guys host an AMA on Dominion please?

Please see this thread for some cool features I came up with for Dominion! Feel free to add your ideas or give feedback on what I've posted!

Now that improvements to Dominion are hitting the PBE, this would be the perfect time to ask Dominion fans what they'd like to see in the map.

I'm begging you, I'm a Dominion fan who's VERY passionate about Dominion, and there are countless others like me or even more passionate than me.

Don't get us wrong, we love the changes that are coming, but we have an opportunity to make even more great changes through an AMA.

You did it for TT, and I'm sure you can get some high quality feedback for Dominion as well. Please give us a chance to help you strengthen your slogan of "Most player-focused game company in the World."

I'm sure we would all love it if riot wanted some input. But dominion players have repeatedly offered advice only to be ignored ( the old forums were littered with large threads with said advice. There were also Skype groups setup with rioters to give advice) There's no reason to do this song and dance again, unless Riot has changed their tune. At this point, it is unlikely.

For the skype convo, you will just have to believe me. Many tournament players in the DominateDominion channel opened a chat with a rioter at the time who was working on dominion. This chat was opened if I recall because it was thought that maybe the problem was a lack of communication.

Well, I'm still not gonna sit by and do nothing. If Riot doesn't host an AMA then I will. I'd like you to port over that info when I / Riot hosts the AMA.

Riot did indeed ignore it. It's an absolute pain trying to search through the old forums now, but there are a lot of topics filled with suggestions. I've heard a bunch of reports corroborating the skype group thing too.

They already did... a lot. :( Now there are a few updates but right now nothing about what is really needed. Hoping there is more but well... I've been fooled by Riot for far too long.

I'm going to go through all the ideas people linked me and see if they really should have been implemented or not. Sometimes we think they're really good ideas, but they're actually not, and just something we want for whatever reason.

I'm saying yours or the ideas linked are though, I'm just throwing that out.

The players understand more about Dominion than Riot itself, this is the problem here. This is why they can't make an AMA about Dominion, they made it clear a LOT of times they don't understand this mode. One or two Rioters do, but most of them don't. Idk for how long you are playing Dom (if you are new to the mode you won't get it tbh), but most ideas from the community should be in the game and would make it a lot more attractive. But Rioters will always pick one or two weak comments to answer and let the strong arguments (from the oldest Dom players) without answers because they know they can't beat those guys. As Chavez Obama said above, there were a ton of ideas and discussion, some Riot answers, but no action. Biggest obstacle is Morello.

I've been beasting Dominion since Season 4. Admittedly, I tried Dominion in Season 2, didn't understand shit and just stopped. I actually quit the game due to being caught up with life in mid Season 2 - mid Season 4. Came back, got the grasp of it, loving it.

I know quite a bit about Dominion, likely not as much as players playing from Season 2.

How is Morello an obstacle though?

From all this time I see people asking Riot for proper support and some videos where he speaks it seems he is the one stoping other rioters from working on the mode. In his mind if Riot promote other modes LoL will die. This is due to his experience with other game, I don't remember which one now. But these older Dominion players already beat his argument pretty hard. Also Smite is a good example of a game with more modes that can survive. It's not like LoL would have a milion modes anyway. 3 competitive modes (SR, TT and Dom) and a fun mode (ARAM) is fine enough.

Agreed.

LoL would not die if they gave other maps some attention. Other maps don't even need most of the attention, a portion of what SR receives would be fine. Whatever game he worked on before was exactly that game, not LoL. The same thing wouldn't repeat if it was handled properly.

I really hope they're not seriously gonna place those super minions in Dominion as replacements for the tanky minions...

That screenshot is the silliest and stupidest thing I've seen in the game yet.

Not him, but they look hilariously oversized for the map. I know Crystal Scar minions are stronger than other variants, but that's a little excessive.

I'm referring to the screenshot of Super Minions in the crystal scar, apparently replacing the Bulky Melee Minions.

They just look so incredibly out of proportion in comparison. The bulkies are stronger than other minions, but not nearly to the scope (or size) of super minions.

The bulkies come every wave all game, using the super minions for that is just so excessive because the super minions are the big superhulks who dwarf out the rest of the wave.

Of course League wouldn't die if Riot gave more love to the other modes. Treeline is getting some polish, ARAM just got some fiddling. Hopefully Dominion will be next in line to get something substantive.
