I just got into a team builder and was selecting my champ and rdy to start looking when I find that "Group must have at least one friend'. Why do I all of a sudden need one friend now to play a game of team builder? I've been able to look for 4 other roles since, like, ......4 hours ago but now I need a friend to join? Why?

robopanda3031 votesHow does that reduce que times? I mean builders want to get a role so that they don't have to wait as long. Doing that, there will be less solo players to join a game overall reducing que times. I honestly hate this.
Vore Monster3 votesIf everyone and their mothers make a team, there will be less solo players to grab when searching for a role. Going solo still allows you to pick a role and lane you want to go, along with what champion you want to play.
When you reduce the lobbies by kicking people out into looking for lobbies with people already searching, lobbies are going to fill up faster with the amount of people starting to look for a team.
robopanda3031 votesThere are millions of players playing LoL right now, and I doubt people play with their mothers. Most builders don't kick since they want to get into a game ASAP, and most of the kicks are legit for ex. fiddle adc. Like that is just ridiculous. Based on personal expierence, when I que up for mid, it takes around 5-10 minutes, but building, I get a full team in 1-2 minutes. This shows how efficient team builder was.
Vore Monster1 votesYour problem with long queues comes from the role popularity. ADC, Support, and even junglers pretty much Insta-queue. I still haven't waited longer than 45 seconds when searching as a jungler.

PRN1 votesJust so you know, there aren't actually millions of players playing LoL right now. Those "statistics" that you've read about are actually warped to create an illusion. Millions of players play LoL, they never specified how many all at one specific time, and how many of those people were actually in a 5v5 PvP game, not just sitting online or doing custom matches or different maps.

EndlessSorcerer1 votesI believe the reason was that a lot of top and mid laners would build their own team rather than join another team, simply because it was typically faster for them. This would lead to the creation of many teams and there would be fewer solo players available to fill slots.
PRN1 votesActually this is not a recent thing at all. This was a patch some time ago. So you must be mistaken. It was to reduce queue times so that you had friends sitting your lobby rather than just one person starting lots of rooms, which in turn means that there are more rooms for the LFG players to fill, thus scatter and never actually form a whole group. Basically, just a big musical-chairs of players hopping between rooms one by one instead of pooling together.
You don't need a friend to play team builder. Simply choose Join, not create.
therealdragon1 votesI was just saying that I didn't need a friend before up until this time. I would click create, invite everyone on my friends list (but no one would join) then search for 4 roles and accept those I thought suitable.
However, now I do click join instead of create and it seems to still work fine
dustwind81 votesThis is only temporary due to the beta for the new SR, you can just as easily find a team as you could making one yourself. This effect is only for creating a new team.
