LoL is woefully lacking in terms of different gametypes. I have enjoyed the featured game modes, but there were only 7 of them (with two being simply let's have 6 player teams) distributed throughout the year. This means that for the vast majority of the year, we had SR, TT, ARAM, and Dominion. SR and TT are quite similar: basic slower paced gameplay geared towards the competitive LoL population. This leaves only Dominion and ARAM for the more casual, fun-loving gamers and I'm not really a fan of Dominion.
While it is nice that they at least gave us those two permanent gametypes (Dominion and ARAM) back in 2011 and 2012, it would be wonderful if they could open up their game to include the casual gamers that enjoy the fun gametypes by either making fun game modes like a tweaked version of URF permanent or adding a single permanent rotating game mode queue that was a mix of last year's successful FGM's. The fact that even with all the clamor for making URF permanent that dominated many a comment section of their announcements last year, they have chosen not to do so is baffling to me.
Adding a fun queue isn't going to detract from the experience for all of the competitive types that don't want to play it. Instead, it will help open the game up to include a wider audience (which equates to more $, Riot). Personally, I enjoy the more fun game types. The featured game modes helped keep me playing, and I have never played so much as the two times that URF was available. Without these fun game mode options available, there's mainly ARAM... and my PS4 (and after a while of having just ARAM, the PS4 starts to win my time and money).
