Could we have some new AI bots please?

We currently have around 50 champions who can be used as bots in Custom and Coop VS AI games, but apart from Lucian, we haven't seen any new bots in a while. Perhaps we could add a couple more champions to the AI roster?

Example Champions that would work easily: Vel'Koz is a very basic mage, he'd follow basic rules akin to Brand. Jinx would work similarly to Ashe. Nami would play similarly to Sona.

Quite a few ADCs would work rather simply, since Graves and Lucian bots already know how to dive, characters like Vayne would work in a similar way. The same applies to basic mages. Even champions like Braum can borrow from current AI bots

The biggest issues are for champions who are naturally very mobile or have hard to use mechanics that players struggle with. That being said, Annie bots manage to work alright with Tibbers, so it probably doesn't need too much tweaking for Syndra or Oriana to be able to control their balls. While invisibility champions should be avoided (since technically bots know where you are no matter what, they just ignore you), even hyper mobile champions like Kassadin could theoretically be introduced, as his ultimate is just a glorified flash and intermediate bots already know how to use flash.

At the very least, it'd be nice to see a few more faces when playing with bots.

I strongly agree. When you're first starting out, you go in to pvp and see champions you encountered as bots and have an idea how to play against them. Or you see a champion you've never played and they just face wreck you.

Would also be nice to see an advanced level of ai. Doom bots had 1, 2, and 5 bombs, so I think the 5 bomb bots without the doom abilities would probably be harder than intermediate bots (but it's really hard to compare, so I could be wrong).

Completely agree with both of you. Especially if you're sick of toxic players so you want to do something a bit more challenging, having advanced AI bots would be perfect! Intermediate becomes a joke after a while. :/

That's my point exactly. When I first saw a Katarina, I had no idea what to do and got my backside handed to me. And it'd be nice to see new faces too.

Expert bots would be nice too.

I feel like you shouldn't be getting too comfortable playing vs ai, no matter how much you excel at vs ai it's still not the same as playing with humans. adding more bot characters just seems like a way to please people who avoid playing pvp at all

What's wrong with pleasing people who play against bots? And it's not just for Coop VS AI only players either. I play a lot of Coop VS AI and I see Gold and Diamond players coming along for their first win of the day. Seeing a Silver or higher player is very common too.

On top of that, assuming you're finishing with intermediate bots at about level 10 (or whatever), you've only really played against 50% of all champions. When I first tried normals at level 12, my first match was against 3 champions I didn't even recognise and got my poor backside handed to me. Playing against bots gives people an idea of what the champions do in an environment where it doesn't matter too much.

An easy first win of the day is not the same as people who only play vs ai, it's a back door to getting ip taking the path of least resistance.

Do you believe every character is viable in the meta for league of legends? If you do I feel you should look into what people consider 'tier lists' and then you will realize that only a handful of characters are even played at the LCS tournament level let alone in ranked or solo Q play.

Just because you want to know how every character works and how to play against them doesn't mean it will actually help you accomplish anything vs real thinking real time strategy adjusting players.

you can just auto attack a bot once and then walk to your tower allowing you an easy victory over that 1 fight, if you want more realistic gameplay with depth and strategy perhaps you should play with humans who actually evolve their gameplay based on each individual match and the needs of each match.

I'm not saying playing vs AI is a sin and never should be done, I'm just saying that you are perhaps expecting too much out of Riot for a training wheels game mode which really doesn't help people 'learn' how to play at the higher end of the competitive level more so allow players to learn faulty habits playing against faulty artificial intelligence.

These are the same people who allow poorly scripted bots to control characters in player vs player and have allowed them for a very long time as long as it's not in Summoners Rift, you would imagine they would want to tackle the problems in the player vs player arena before they really strive to improve the player vs ai arena yet have not made any improvements ever.

Not to mention the massive amount of smurf accounts on league of legends as well, you were level 12 and you lost which is something that is not unheard of in this community full of smurfs.

Riot also makes summoner showcases for each champion, so you you could watch those to get the basis of what champions are capable of doing.

Poorly scripted bots affected all game modes apart from ranked and were ignored for ages until they started affecting normal SR games. You seem to think I am asking the moon, the stars and the sun from Riot, when all I really want is a couple of new bots. That's all. I don't see any harm in asking and it doesn't harm new players either, when they're just starting out.

I know full well that there are tiers of champions. The bots don't though and are currently very out-dated in that aspect. Leona bots currently play top. Ashe and Miss Fortune bots regularly play in bottom lane together. Lately I've seen a couple of Cho'Gath and Ryze supports instead of your normal healer/tank support. Ryze in normal games is being played in top lane but the bot doesn't know that. Thresh is THE support but he's nowhere to be seen in the AI domain. Perhaps an update is needed for bots every so often anyway. Since few genuinely new players will play PvP straight away and a lot of people will play a bot game or three first, it's important to make them somewhat follow PvP gameplay.

All that aside, I'm not even asking for complicated bots (e.g. Azir) or jungler bots, just bots that can use already-existing code, like Vel'Koz or Nami.
