Not a fan of the new Gentleman Cho'Gath splash art...

The old one feels so much warmer and more gentlemanly. There are some issues, like his raised spike-arm looking a bit bent and broken, but his face looks better, his claws look better, he has the correct number of claws on his feet, the shading is warmer and more akin to someone sitting by a log fire and... I could go on, but come on, the old one is SO MUCH nicer, right?

Gentleman Cho'Gath is the only skin I've ever bought RP points for to buy (every other skin I own is either from the original 400 RP, or the leftovers from purchasing Gentleman Cho'Gath, or they've been otherwise free), I'm going to be sad seeing his current splash be replaced.

Oh well, found a way to keep the old splash even if/when Riot goes through with this. So much for instilling both fear and gentlemanliness into my enemies.

Something rubbed me the wrong way about the new one, and I'm starting to think it's because the old one is like a piece of league history. The new one just doesn't have the same feel, as you said.

I'd like it if the old one stayed for that reason alone, but I doubt Riot will change their mind considering their stiff decisions on this update.

I was completely fine with Riot's idea of redesigning older skins/making them universally acceptable for Chinese consumers, but this is really pushing the envelope.

There is literally no reason why the new one should be visibly inferior to the previous splash art. Are they purposly trying to remove texture and gradient to their new splashes? Is the Art & Design branch of Riot games under new management? (I honestly hope that this is not of Tencent's doing)

Lighting is just better all-round, more realistically, cozier, warmer

This new one is just shinier, polished, brighter and lacks immersion

Even if the old ones are dated, the Chinese replacements DO NOT MAKE SENSE and in some cases, are ass backwards in tone and design.

A huge part of whether I buy a skin or not is based on a splash, followed by particles. Models are lost on me unless they're exceptionally well done or poor (both are rare in these categories)

The splash is equivalent to the box of a physical good, or hell, the splash is like a wall poster; I have to like looking at it to get me to purchase it, and NONE of these Chinese replacements are improvements, and a lot even take two steps back.

Pisses me off.

You can't even see the painting or the fireplace anymore. The cane leaning against the wall is gone too. This isn't gentleman Cho'gath it's just tophat Cho'gath.

Yeah, I honestly don't think ALL old splash arts should be converted to Chinese.

Only a sum of Chinese Splash Arts are any good, and that's only because some of the NA ones suck so horribly bad (cough Sivir cough) that they need a quick replacement before being upgraded.

I hope these are only temporary...

i mean honestly, both of these splash arts suck. they're gonna go through and update almost all of the old splash arts i believe, and i think this awesome skin deserves a much better splash art than either of the current ones

Nothing about the new art works and I really hope that they at least go back on the idea to change Gentlemen Cho'Gath's artwork. Although, I honestly think they should just make a new splash for the skin, considering how good the Gnar skin is and how the current model is freaking blue.

The Chinese art makes him look like a cockroach in a suit. This is the only splash change that I feel is just entirely a downgrade, the others are either better, of similar quality, or just marginally worse (Like the Chinese Midnight Ahri's face) but this one is just bad.

Whoever drew the new artwork did a great job with the line art, but failed with perspective and color choice. It makes it come off as mildly unsettling with all the fighting perspectives and lacks the warm welcoming color pallet.

I agree, while the new splash art brings few improvements over the old one, the old one is so much nicer to look at. The atmosphere of the old one is just perfect, the new one is too bright for me.

The new global splash updates look ok however, I'm starting to feel that some of the splash arts look a bit to anime?For e.g Amumu just turned a bit cartoony as well as its skins and other such.Also a big problem to me is that a lot of the new splash updates make some of the characters look like sex toys.For e.gEvelynn andMissFortune look very provocative in SOME splashes. This is starting to make me think that it wouldn't be appropriate for maybe the younger players(10-12 yr old Friday night gamers :p). I don't know guys, you tell me your thoughts

P.S Pleaz riot give us a voice or at least let us have a poll to decide. P.S.S This sounds like a tyrannical decision instead of democracy T-T

Both I and my team have to look at my splash while loading, which can at times take up to five minutes or more. If you're going to spend nearly $20 on a skin, it needs to ALL be good quality, not just the model and sounds. You pick Cho'Gath, you need to inspire awe and terror into the enemy team starting from the loading page, and now normal Cho'Gath does that better, with an awesome new splash that he got last year.

Plus, the splash is what advertises a skin to a player. Would you really want to buy Gentleman Cho with that badly angled, overly bright picture?

Seriously that's the TL;DR of this post. I understand that some people don't agree with the splash changes, I hate some of them Cough Vampire Fiora Cough but added the little comment at the end took a nice structured post and made it into a whiny one.
