Kog'Maw hasn't eaten since he joined the League

Read Kog'Maw's lore, I dare you. Basically, he appeared in Icathia, was told by a mysterious voice to eat things and go to Malzahar, did as he was told and joined the League. Small problem, since he's been in the League, he hasn't eaten anything at all on the Fields of Justice. So, in order to make in-game Koggles a little closer to his lore, why not give him a little, well, something?

When Kog'Maw is within melee range of a minion, instead of his normal basic attack animation, he eats the minion instead, swallowing it whole. The animation plays at the same speed as a normal attack animation.

It's nothing special, just a little idea to make the Mouth of the Abyss more mouthy and less projectile vomit-y.

There you go. Kog'Maw can actually eat things now.

I always imagined he ate kind of like how a spider does, just instead of only melting the organs of the creature he melts the entire thing then just goes around slurping up the remains after they're good and melted after the battle.

Kog'maw eats like a fly or other similar insect. He vomits on his food to melt them then eats the vomit. So he is eating every match, he's just doing it in a very aggressive and unusual way which is projectile vomiting stomach acid onto his meals.

The green goop Koggy 'spits' is just as much a part of him as his 'body' is. Objects dissolved are absorbed into him regardless of the distance between them and the Voidpuppy we all known and love.

's kind of like how Cho's Rupture spikes are a physical extension of him that doesn't appear to be connected in any way. That sort of thing happens a lot when you're dealing with a creature that isn't confined to 3+1 dimensions.

The reason why kog is so hungry all the time is actually because he is constantly barfing up whatever he has in his stomach.

Except that with the disappearance of the institute of war and the league, Kog'Maws lore (or any other void monster for that matter) makes absolutely no sense. Expect the lore retcon to leave them released in the wild eating things normally.

While Kogmaw hasn't eaten much, he has probably drunk lots of item 2003 and item 2004 .

Who knows, maybe these things taste better than I think they do.

I think the subtext of a creature who vomits constantly is that he has eaten something. He is still feeding "themed". I don't think it's necessary to literally have a straight-cut feeding-mechanic on every Void champion; just look at Vel'Koz.
