New Featured Queue idea: Multiqueue

Step 1: Choose your champion and skin using Team Builder's front end interface.

Step 2: Choose your runes and masteries.

Step 3: Press Start

Step 4: The matchmaking system randomly determines whether you will be playing Twisted Treeline, Summoner's Rift, Howling Abyss, or Showdown, then groups you with an appropriate number of players.

Step 5: Profit?

Welcome to Multiqueue, where you never know what you'll be up against. Multiqueue aims to test every player's overall League skills by not telling them what mode or map they'll be playing beforehand. The most adaptable players will have a definite advantage over one role, one champion players.

The rules are simple: in-game is not changed, and the only changes are to the ways teams are built. There is no "team comp" that Multiqueue looks for, and obviously you can't queue for lane because of the possibility of Dominion or ARAM being selected. As a result, even Summoner's Rift will feel different because the random team building will force unorthodox team comps on both sides.

Good idea, but it has a few flaws. First off, a multi-queue meta would probably emerge, featuring the limited amount of champions that are useful across all game types. This would defeat the supposed purpose of this queue type. In addition, the R in ARAM stands for random. Also, picking your runes and masteries before knowing what your team is doing could lead to an all AD team, all tank team, etc., which is almost impossible to win with. Finally, with a 25% chance that you'll end up in summoner's rift, few would pick junglers, leaving a team unequipped if that map were successful.

I actually love this idea. It removes the sort of pains from choosing a lane or fighting over a position. It would make players who value teamwork much more appropriate than in a solo queue environment. Shame that Riot won't do it though.
