Champion Masteries are already a complete bullshit statistic. You can hit the max rank even if you're awful, it'll just take longer.

Riot could just link it to Dominion's awful Personal Score system.

Is it an at all accurate measure of skill?

Hell no.

But at least it's not flagrant neglect.

Hell no.

No. Delete score entirely and add mastery as just a flat value for win or loss. Riot is incompetent at judging performance, so let it just represent dedication to a specific champ. Map doesn't matter.

Didn't Riot say something about personal score being stuffed into the Dominion code such that removing it is really hard? I seem to recall them saying that.

What the map really needs is a complete remake from the ground up, but the chances of that happening are pretty much zero.

Even if it is, how hard is it to remove the display notifications when you earn it, and remove it from the scoreboard? Nobody would care about the horrible broken score if it was invisible.

Of course, a full rework with map VU would be great. The re-code could fix quests to normalize out a bit better and focus on bot, remove stormshield to replace with a contested neutral objective, dampen the respawn rubberband, etc.
