New maps? Does it happen?
Im new...dont hate. Is there hope for new / more maps? Is that a thing that happens in lol? I know its been around a long time, but ive been playing for a couple weeks, so i have no clue.

As for new maps, that's a no (as far as we know).
On the other hand. Summoner's Rift is getting a complete visual overhaul. You can read the official announcement here.
There is hope for new maps at -some- point (Crystal Scar, Twisted Treeline and Howling Abyss were all new maps at one point). There's no plan that we know of for a new map currently. The last planned new map died on the drawing board (well, more in the lab I guess, but in any case never made it to players even as a beta). Each other map requires balancing items and champions that are being primarily balanced for Summoner's Rift so a new map has to offer significantly different gameplay opportunity to be worth the continual investment of time maintaining the map, in addition to the up-front investment in design and art for the new map. Map resources right now are being poured into a new look for Summoner's Rift, so it's very unlikely that there's a new map being currently worked on unannounced.
About one per year. Probably less.
Riot can't support the maps they already have, people always ask for new maps but no not enough people play the ones we already have. 99% of people just play SR, I play dominion but the community is WAY smaller, mostly because riot doesn't support dominion or twisted treeline.
