I heard Toxicity is down in the League community

S H A Y C 0·7/1/2016, 2:35:10 PM·26 votes·2,070 views

The last of all of my friends quit league this morning.

"I asked for a gank from my jungler and then got flamed and harassed by my team and the enemy team for the next 15 minutes. Im sorry but i have uninstalled league, i dont want to be a part of this community anymore" - My buddy 7-1-2016 10:15am EST

All of my real life friends have walked away from this community for similar reasons. All but one of my league made friends have also walked away...the only one left plays a couple times a month.

You can make as many announcements as you want...but this community is the worst i have ever encountered, and i came here from Call of Duty.

"Toxicity is down" Riot says,

Yet in reality it's gone UP, premades can be toxic and never face their own teammates reporting them.

I dont understand this. Like yes the community is "toxic" (although I hate that word for it. It's an extremely competitive community), but you realise you don't have to deal with that right? "/mute all" at the start of every game. I have done that for like my last 100 games and my play has improved due to not being tilted by comments in the chat and I enjoy league so much more. The majority of you play Solo in the Dynamic queue anyway so theres really no one you're listening for. Chances are whatever your team mate is going to say will be useless information that could just be pinged. (Unless its timings on things). Really no need to have to bother listening to anyone in the chat. (If they got time to type a paragraph on why you suck, chances are they suck). Don't even give them a chance xD.

toxicity is down. Riot does care about the community If you're offended or easily tilted just mute everyone going into game turn your chat off completely and you'll never have to read it.

The problem may stem from the community but you do have options to eliminate it Make a premade team(if you flame there that is due to you being a flamer) Stop giving a shit outside ranked games ;D, this is key since we all know everyone tries 100%, 100% of the time....

good day

It's funny, but it really seems like they're afraid to punish people for fear of losing players, but by not punishing players, they're losing players.

I don't mean punish because of existing rules, I mean making it harder for people to be obnoxious jerks. Ranked isn't protected nearly enough.

You know this shit is bad when it's being compared to Call of Duty

kinda makes the voice chat idea a lot less appealing

it's not the game, it's never the game, it's just the playerbase. it used to be good at season 2/3/4 but then came in the rabble of 13 years old (or around that) . it's the fate of every good game. if there's a game on the ryze (heh), play the shit out of it before everybody else comes and starts flaming. it's also probably because lol is a free game, and if you get banned you can always remake an account, unlike in overwatch, where you gotta be careful.

It's common knowledge that Riot falsifies almost all of their statistics and statements when it comes to League of Legends toxicity levels. They try to claim that only 0.02% of their Community has been permanently banned, but we all know it's a lot more than that.

Now they're saying that their toxicity levels is going down... well, I wonder why? League is slowly losing it's playerbase. People are getting tired of Riot continuing to nerf every unique and fun champion in the ground, then leaving them alone for 2-3 years until a Rework happens. They don't listen to their community like they did back in the early stages of the game, all they care about now is eSports and profit - screw the community - and it all started when Tribunal was removed.

Sad part of it all, is that the Korean playerbase is Riot's biggest profit, that's where all the LCS and eSports profit is coming from, but even Korea is dropping League slowly, there's less pro teams... League is dying, just as every game does at a certain point - it's been running for 7 years, the game has been figured out since 2011 (Mage/Assassin Mid - Bruiser/Tank Top - Bruiser/Tank Jungle - ADC/Support Bot).

I only wish, we could have done some games together!

LuxannaVeritas7/1/2016, 8:55:49 PM1 votes

Not just in the games; I've seen a higher amount of toxic posts on the boards as well. On the BOARDS! It's not even in game!

(I'm not saying this post is toxic, because it's totally not)

if you're not leaving instantly we could possibly do some games togetherrrrrrr

This is a known fact RIOT refuses to admit. I have posted proof (names and what was said) multipel times on forums always gets removed as they want to protect the toxxic players instead of punish them.

I will keep doing it to (been banned once for doing it but even if 1 person sees the post totally worth it)

And the "dont say anything" to avoid having people be toxxic is false.

I have played a match, which we won iirc, and never said a single thing cept gl at start in /all and after match was over I get reported.... i mean Leagues community is worse than any online game i have ever played (and i have played tons over past 15 years)

To be honest, the matter at hand is not toxicity but rather the toxicity that erupts from new players who get to level 30 too quickly. While I like that Riot is trying to get more people into its ranked system faster, they're only getting more Bronze, Silver, and Gold ELO players. I won't lie that it's easier to smurf now b/c it's easier to get to 30 but most players I come across have very little skill in their roles before entering ranked and most treat player requests like they're flaming even when their intention aren't wrong.

A way to fix toxicity is to extend the amount of time new players have to play before they can get into ranked, maybe a little more than just 16 champions. Maybe require them to play 500-1000 games before entering ranked or something. Riot is letting the inexperienced kids ruin the game and this isn't gonna grow a community in a healthy way.

But but but DQ gives you the possibility of removing toxicity of you just queue up with 4 other friends!! Friends! Ranked is all about friends now!! Because fuck competitiveness, right? It's not like that's what made the game good to begin with. Here have a sticker.

I just had one of the worst league games toxicity wise. In champ select, I called support and chose Janna. Then someone said "lane with player" and the game started with me as support, and a "support" Pantheon and adc Cait duo. Them and the Renekton top flamed me from the start, and kept telling me to go mid. With JANNA. I refused and did my job as a support. Pantheon stayed bot and rushed in to the enemy and I had to save him multiple times. The whole time they were /all chatting to report me and saying I called mid and changed it at the last second, and that I was trolling despite me shielding and helping them the whole game. Then after giving up first blood Pantheon and Cait both went mid and left me at bot, where I was eventually tower dived trying to protect the tower. At one point Renekton even TP'd away to leave me alone to die. The only non toxic person was Gragas. After the game, I looked them up and found out the Renekton was a premade with them as well. In lobby they continued their flaming and asking the enemy team to report me and telling lies about me, like "Janna picked mid originally but trolled us and locked support" when if you look at my match history, I NEVER choose mid because I am a support main. It baffles me that players like this are allowed to exist. They said they reported me, but I said absolutely nothing rude to them at all, so hopefully they will get punished, but who knows.
