Is she a tan white person or does she have another ethnic background ? (IRL comparison obv) And if so, why is her ethnicity so little emphasized ?

She's dark skinned, yes. Why should it be brought front and center though? What reason would riot have to emphasize it?

I mean, cool if it's clear for you but it wasn't for me !

I'm definitely not asking for it to be brought front and center, I'm just pointing out the fact it's not obvious. And yes, I would have appreciated a little more hints. For example no champion in the League has curly hair (don't quote me on that), that would have been the opportunity.

Riot literally doesn't make ugly champions. Even Urgot and Yorick got huge upgrades in the ugly department. Having the super rare Illaoi or Taliyah isn't ugly, its just not conventional beauty. People should be able to see a non waifu female champion without violently breaking down.

Most likely because her culture, environment, and position in the world is very important to her character. And that she is flagshipping a whole new faction whose people would be exclusively their own race.

She's from a jungle civilization right next door to Runterra's desert region. Everyone from that area has a darker skin tone. Thus, its kind of stupid to ask if she's Caucasian, because there's literally no reason she would be.

Some white people have a darker skin tone than others (e.g. greek over german) and some white people are not caucasian. So she could be caucasian, or not. My question was about her ethnicity.

Shurima has more races than one since it's so vast. But even white people there have tanned skin because of the sun (see Sivir for example. Or pre-Void Kassadin/Malzahar)

Yes but for someone whose ancestors have been Shuriman for thousands of years, she really shouldn't look white. So considering she kind of breaks that logic, it isn't stupid to ask if Qiyana is supposed to be caucasian.

Again Shurimans natively arent all the same race and theres a lot of proof for that in the lore. But no shit Qiyana isnt caucasian when her skin is dark

I am a Caucasian guy with olive skin and I have the same skin tone as Qiyana. Considering her skin color is possible for caucasian people and she has mostly white features, it is not entirely clear. If anything Shurimans being diverse in race and skin color regardless of their environment makes it even more ambiguous, however Qiyana is not Shuriman because her people have been completely isolated from the outside world for many generations.

I was more talking about skin color not ethnical origin cause those aren't the same in Runeterra. Her skin is tanned-white in color

Thats most likely due to Sivirs VGU happening before they really defined shurima and its people. In-universe it could simply be that Sivir has a mixed heritage. After all its likely that quite some people from Noxus, Piltover and Zaun live/visited Shurima at a certain point.

Thats a possible explanation but I would prefer that, of the few normal humans we have of Shurima, she accurately represent them in her characteristics and skin color.

Kaisa looks caucasian, but her ethnicity is shuriman, because north-africans are as caucasians as europeans since they're from the same race.

Same for any "dark skinned" champion, the only racially black we know are Pyke, Lucian, Ekko and maybe Karma. So yes, she is caucasian, just really tanned.

The word you're looking for Kai'Sa is tanned. Shurima has more than 1 race but ethnically they are all Shurimans. Qiyana is not white tho. She is hispanic (in skin color that is).

I was just making the point that not all caucasians came from Europe specifically, Kai'sa is not "white" per se, but she's still caucasian. Race is independant from skin color, that's why you can have dark skinned italians or greek for example, they're still considered as whites/caucasians nonetheless.

So yeah about Qiyana, she's ethnically "meso-american", or at least, inspired by it.
