Question about Skarner Lore
I don't think my questions will be seen in the main thread, so I thought I might as well open a discussion on Skarner's new lore and hopefully some people can answer my questions.

Does Skarner's species require a specific kind of gem/crystal to fuse to, or can it be any generic crystal? How does that translate to the shape that Skarner takes? Does the crystal transform into the bodily shape that Skarner represents once they awaken? Also, are these crystals a limited resource or do they form naturally over time?

When Skarner sings his song to the people in the story, I couldn't tell from the writing how the people interpret the song. Could they hear it? If they could, how did it sound to them? Or were they simply incapable of hearing it?
