Sejuani's Destiny

Gonna get right to things, looking at the current state of the Freljord lore (in its weird-ass state) there's only a few paths I can see Sejuani's character taking.

One of the not-so-likely scenarios is that Sejuani wins a war in the Freljord. I do not believe that Sejuani could win a war on her own against both Ashe's and Lissandra's factions. In order for her to win this war she would definitely require outside aide. This aide could come in the form of Noxian interference, Lissandra manipulating her, or Volibear going all god of storms. While Sejuani no doubt boasts some badass warriors and groups of people, there is no way that living under her rule as a non-combatant is that great. If she were to win, her reign would not last and most likely fall into civil war and Noxian invasion.
Sejuani dies, this is the least likely path because Riot just doesn't kill their champions (which I detest but hey that's just how it is). However, this would fit in with her character a lot, because I don't see Sejuani compromising her values to anyone, let alone Ashe, and her fighting on the front lines is not going to do her any favors in the long run.
Sejuani surrenders peacefully, there's no way this happens without existing pressure from somewhere. Noxus would have to be knocking on the door or the Void invasion would have to start for Sejuani to willingly consent to any form of surrender.
Sejuani is captured, or otherwise crushed to the point of irrelevancy. What I mean by this is that the Avarosan tribe and her allies crush Sejuani enough that she becomes more akin to a bandit leader than a sovereign head. Capturing her would be difficult to say the least, and I doubt that any sort of captivity would be permanent for her. Either way, the Avarosan tribe becomes the great power in the Freljord, leaving Ashe to deal with whatever Lissandra has planned.

These are just 4 rather vague and abstract directions that the civil war could head in. The overall theme is that Sejuani's ultimate character arc leads her down the path towards villainy, unless she has some sort of about-face on her moral compass.

I think Sejuani is the least likely to with the war. Even if we ignore the fact that neither Ashe or Sejuani realizes that Lissandra is a contender, Ashe could easily starve Sejuani out. I don't now if they have forts or castles in the Freljord but if a siege were to take place Ashe would come put on top. Not only does she seem to have the bulk of the region's food but unlike Sejuani she values just defence as much as offence (kinda ironic since she's not the tank in this situation). Sejuani's philosophy of constant struggle being the only honourable/viable way of living is short sighted, needlessly restrictive and probably something Lissandra could easily manipulate.

I think unity is the only chance the Freljord has at stopping Lissandra and Sejuani has already shown she's not a team player. If she won't accept help from her own nation why would she accept help from outside forces?

I often wonder how she could even win. I mean, she was an army of followrs, but Ashe has the means to sustain her people through farmwork. She may have a strong start, but her social-Darwinism enable her to win a war of attrition. She needs to end it as quickly as possible.

I actually wouldn't rule champion death out. After all the lore is disconnected from the game,so there wouldn't be any problem in the game if they die.

The thing is just that the death of a champion would only happen at the very end of a champions story and we are far away from reaching any end of any champions story.

On another note: Honestly I feel kinda bad for Sejuani. She really feels kinda irrelevant compared to Ashe and Lissandra.

I hope that riot understands that without death stories with conflicts of that kind can not progress..... Anyway... about sejuani : i think that she will msot likely allie herself with ashe and then together with anivia and orhn they will imprison lissandra ( not kill....) in the howling abyss( or orhn could create a new prison....)

To everyone saying Sejuani is really small in the grand scheme of things, saying she needs to rely on allies, I have this, you have no idea what you're talking about. I'll prove that by tearing down the main arguments against her.

First, her lack of resources. The Winters Claw are the second smallest tribe in the Freljord, the smallest being the Frostguard(Lissandra) and the largest being the Avarosan(Ashe), this may seem like its cut and dry a disadvantage, however it isn't so simple. Her tribe has lived in far colder conditions than Ashe's and as such has grown more efficient with their resources when it comes to rationing food. They also have access to more critical supplies like true ice and frostboars. Now, why are frostboars important? Well that is simple, they are far better than horses when it comes to cold. A horse sweats when put through hard work, and when you sweat in sub-freezing temperature, the sweat freezes to your skin. That's why they use dog sleds, a horse will freeze to death midstride. A frostboar would be more along the lines of a polar bear, it has ways to deal with the cold while still exerting effort, thus making it far more useful for carrying supplies and riding into battle.

Second, her lack of troops. The Avarosan vastly outnumber the Winters Claw, this is true. However The majority of the avarosan are farmers, not trained in the art of war, and this is not like a modern war, it takes a good amount of time to train someone to use a sword to the best of its ability. The Winters claw however worship warriors, and their is little farming to be done anyway. They hunt and fight to feed themselves, the result of this being that a far greater portion of the Winters Claw are ready for war. An example, if the Avarosan outnumbered the Winters Claw 3 to 1, but the rate of warriors was 2/10. Well if the Winters Claw had a warrior to pop. ratio of 7/10, then in a battle of 100 Claw and 300 Avarosan, it would be 70 trained Claw warriors vs 60 trained Avarosan, the rest being conscripts.

Third, Ashe has way more allies then Sejuani. This is another point that people bring up, the Avarosan are allied with Demacia, a superpower. Now if Demacia were to get involved it would certainly swing the war in Ashe's favor. However, that is a big if. Demacia is already in an ongoing war with Noxus, and they are dealing with a growing Void threat. Most likely the Demacians will not send troops unless they felt a definitive threat towards the central state. They would likely send supplies, but I've already touched on why that does little.

Finally, Sejuani's greatest strength, her leadership skills. Sejuani is a master war leader, she can rally her troops for battle in a heartbeat. She was able to get her men to go to war with the largest tribe in the Freljord simply because she made them think they could. This woman was able to burn food in front of hungry people and make them follow her, not because she forced them but because she made them believe they would win and would not have to rely on anyone else to feel full. And this is clearly seen as a sentiment that spreads. As shown in "Journey into the Freljord", when Sejuani raids a village, the place where the food comes from, she gets more than supplies, she gains followers. Every raid spreads the story of the Winters Wrath further, making more and more people believe this is the woman to follow. Additionally, if a civil war broke out in the Freljord, this presence she holds will grow exponentially. The avarosan will see Ashe as a weak leader, and follow Sejuani instead. However Lissandra meddles will also affect this.

Essentially, this war will not be won by whoever can produce the best siege. This war will be won by the person who displays the most power, whether that be a strength in unity or a strength held by oneself matters little, all that matters is which leader cuts the firmest figure, which leader feeds their warriors the best, which leader... fights a war the best.

Or Ashe and Sej could just get married and have many gay babies.[slayer-jinx-wink]

Honestly, I've always thought that her story (and perhaps the main Freljord story as a whole right now) would culminate with her and Ashe putting aside their differences in order to take out Liss and the Watchers. This might happen after Sej is defeated and imprisoned/exiled/something, might be right in the middle of the war when both sides are at their weakest, who knows. But that's what I've been thinking.
